Jay Sandwich has been the best hangout place for college students and teachers of National College, MMK College, RN Podar and TSEC for last 3 decades.

Why do people keep coming back here even after so many years? Their simplicity.

We have been regulars of Jay Sandwich from past 3 years, and their best sandwich hands down is their classic, Mini Grill.

Mini Grill is a toasted sandwich which has plain boiled potatoes, tomatoes, onions, capsicum, cucumbers, a layer of their spicy chutney and cheese with oodles of butter.

Their second classic is Masala Cheese Toast. It is the same like Mini Grill, but they put masala boiled potatoes instead of plain boiled potatoes with oodles of butter.

Their third classic is Only Cheese Toast. Eat it when you are in no mood for any vegetables and/or chutney. It is simple, cheese, butter and bread. That's it.

They are local. If you are caring about local they will have it. Not only is it the mark of chilli but the sudden varieties are to behold. But they will not think of why it might be sometime in the other sphere, they are that local. Only thinking of the absolute they gain their power by shortening their attempts at it. Within this they serve the best local fare which cannot compete with those from the South. This is the hallmark of not possessing achieving anything other than this niche. Think carefully. I have been eating here since many years. The stuff is just legendary. The taste never changes. Neither does the quality nor the service. Their masala cheese toast is iconic. So is the cheese jam toast. What makes a difference is that the owner 'Jay' always is around ensuring quality. There is value for money. Also there are some core values at play. They tell the exact wait time if it's going to be more than 5 minutes and don't string you along. Jay is very nice and keeps asking if more ketchup or chutney is required when you are eating.
