Located in New Kamal CHS on the Waterfield and Linking Road in Bandra West; Khow Chow is an Asian Restaurant which serves Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian food and has Jain food options available too. Valet parking is available and they also provide home delivery. As soon as you enter, the cool ambience and the Asian art on the wall gives you some great lovely vibes; the yellow dim lights makes adds to the cooler ambience.

I visited this outlet with my friends on a Thursday evening for dinner and even on a Thursday evening the place was completely full. Below are the items which we tried:

Paneer Thai Garlic – A dish which is not to be missed. We were totally taken back with the amazing taste of Paneer which were marinated in Basil paste, Thai green curry and topped with fried basil, garlic and little bit of red chillies. Not only did the dish impress us with the presentation but the taste was really amazing.

Kung Pao Potato – One of my fav dishes when it comes to appetizers. A spicy stir fried Chinese dish comprising of peanuts, chillies and pepper and potatoes of course. Loved the presentation and flavor.

Assorted Veg Dimsum Basket – Having 2 sets of 4 different dimsums – Edamame Dimsum, Banana-Flower dimsum, Crystal Dimsums and Shitake Mushroom Dimsum. The Edamame were really amazing; banana-flower dimsum we tried for the first time and they had a little crunch veggies inside it with a nice flavor; crystal dumplings were amazing too. Shitake Mushroom dimsums would be something which the musthroom lovers would not want to miss. Overall it was an amazing assorted basket of dimsum.

Banana-Flower Edmame – As mentioned earlier, this is something which was really new for us and we tried it for the very first time. Having minced veggies it was presented well and nice in taste.

Khow Suey – I love this anytime as its filling and nice. Here it came in a bowl with thick steamed noodles in creamy coconut milk red Thai gravy topped with exotic vegetables. It was served with fried garlic, roasted peanuts and lemon on the side which can be added as per the need of the taste. We didn’t add anything but had it as it is and it was really nice. A word of advice, if you do not want Mushrom in this with exotic vegetables then please ask the server and they would be happy to do that.

Fortune Bamboo Rice – Served in a bamboo vessel, this had babycorn, carrot, zucchini and broccoli. Loved the presentation as well as the taste. Stir-fry Paneer in Black-Pepper – A hot (spicy) gravy, this went perfectly well with the Fortune Bamboo rice. It comprised of chunks of paneer in hot black pepper gravy. We were really impressed with the portion size of both the gravy and rice.

Cottage Cheese Sizzler Hunan Sauce – Quantity sufficient for 2, this had chunks of paneer with hunan sauce and exotic vegetables, we opted for rice in this. Definitely a great value for money. Sizzler has a variety of sauces which can be selected from and also the option for either rice or noodles.

Tab Tim Krob – One of the famous Thai desserts which we tried for the first time today. This was made with Panclan Leaf and rose flavoured water-chestnut which were served in coconut icecream. Highly recommended.

DRINKS: Thai Cooler – A lychee based drink with Lemongrass, Passion fruit and soda served in a pretty bubbly glass topped with a lemon. It was refreshing drink to start with.

Strawberry Oreo Milkshake – With an apt presentation, this one had a soothing taste.

Yuzu Iced Tea – Made with Yuzi which is an Asian Citrus fruit, this is one of the Korean specialty which tastes slightly bitter like grapefruit.

Overall, it was a great time with some of the best music and amazing food at Khow Chow. The quantity of the food is really nice and so is the taste. We would specially like to extend our thanks to our table caretaker Sahid who gave great suggestions as well as Chef Nomu for such wonderful food. Highly recommend this if you are in or around Bandra to try Asian food.

KHOW CHOW TASTE THE DIFFERENCE - PAN ASIAN CUISINE

Khow chow is your one-stop destination to taste and experience a variety of Pan Asian Multi Cuisine food. Every dish served here is bang on presentation and it is packed with outstanding flavours. This restaurant is located at Waterfield, Linking Road, Bandra West and it attracts a very affluent crowd. It also tops the list in being one of my favorite restaurants for Asian cuisine. If you are a Chinese Thai Asian food lover and looking for something light and healthy then you will definitely love the food here. Even though this is not a very spacious restaurant, still there are smart interiors and spaces created. The ambiance of this place is also very pleasant, with light music playing in the background and attractive graffiti on the walls to enhance the elements of the traditional Asian cuisine atmosphere.

The restaurant has table service where the staff is very welcoming, friendly and courteous. It's good if you have pre reservations or else there can be 15 mins waiting time. The seating is comfortable here and the service is also quick. They have an extensive menu of mouth-watering Veg and Non-Veg dishes as well as you can get some lovely exotic beverages, hot pots, teas, and gorgeous mocktails.

Now coming to the food this is what I tried:

Signature Dish: Tab Tim Krob Dessert Rs 350 5*/5 This was such a unique mindblowing dessert. There were these translucent red rubies which were basically water chestnuts coated with tapioca flour and red food color. So the base was these red rubies which were infused with interesting pandan leaf flavour served in nice smooth coconut cream bowl and ice cubes, finally garnished with a mint leaf. Highly Recommended!

Thai Cooler Rs 250 5*/5 A refreshing mix of passion fruit and lychee muddled with lemongrass top up with sparkling soda. This was sweet and tangy. Presented beautifully with lemongrass stick and fresh lemon twist curl. Recommended!

Grape fruit berry lemonade Rs 250 5*/5 A wonderful vibration of triple balance with sourness, bitterness and sweetness. Nice bright red color grape fruit refreshing drink and lemonade. Recommended!

Sizzling Platters Base - Veg Fried Rice Chicken with Chilli Oyster Sauce Rs 750 5*/5 Fresh Fries, Exotic veggies (bell peppers, Zucchini, mushrooms etc..), Stir veg fried rice, delicious cubes of chicken in chilli oyster sauce. The quantity was very good and would serve 2.

Assorted Vegetable Dimsum Basket Rs 860 (8 pieces) 5*/5 All the dumplings in the basket were gorgeous and perfectly cooked. Edamame truffle oil dumpling - This was such a smooth filling and just melts in your mouth. The beans were extremely delicious. One of the best dumplings you must try. Shitake and Straw Mushroom dumpling Vegetable Chinese dumpling Crystal dumpling - with baby corn filling Highly Recommended!

Taronest (Paneer) Rs 400 5*/5 Delicious fresh paneer pieces tossed in Thai chilli sauce and exotic veggies served in beautiful crunchy noodle nest. Highly Recommended!

Som Tam Salad Rs 350 5*/5 Som Tam is a world-famous popular Thai Green Papaya Salad, literally meaning pounding of sour ingredients. This Thai dish served at khow chow was extremely amazing in taste it had shredded raw green papaya, cucumber, beans, cherry tomatoes, peanuts, garlic, chilli, lime and it had a lovely spicy, tangy, sweet and sour taste. Highly Recommended!

If you are out shopping at the famous Linking Road in Bandra you definitely have hit the right spot. My recommendation if you are looking for some amazing food after your tiresome shopping spree head straight to this outlet. Recently visited this place after my shopping and was so delighted. I wonder why I didn’t try this place earlier, it’s a little restaurant with good seating space situated at the start of Fashion lane serving some of the finest Asian food I had ever. The staff is well polished and very helpful in suggestions as per your palate. The ambience is dim and has this trendy quirky Asian vibe. Overall this is our take on @KhowChow:

Ambience: 5/5 Service:5/5 Food: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5

Food we ordered:

Chicken Tomkha: OMG this felt like holy grail. It was a coconut based chicken soup with fresh herbs. To my surprise it was quite subtle yet I could taste each and every element in it. Even the flavor of cilantro was evident…just like a burst of flavours. Truly enjoyed this and I highly recommend having this. It is not at all spicy but if you enjoy flavours this was divine..

Yam Mamuang: Another interesting recommendation would be this Raw mango salad. Shredded Raw Mango, sliced onions. Fried onions, peanuts and some herbs all tossed together for that sweet sour taste. I truly enjoyed how they played with two strong flavours together infusing them to create this. Definitely recommended..

Chicken Wings in Honey chilly Garlic sauce: I love honey chilli wings so this had to be ordered. Perfect crisp skinned wings tossed in nice chilly honey sauce for that sweet spicy taste. I love this dish a lot and it never fails to make me happy and content.

Assorted Dimsum Basket: This was like a palate full of colors. 4 different types of dimsums served in nice steaming bamboo dimsum basket. Enjoyed the moment when you raise the lid and the steam gushes out to reveal the beauty. The 4 dimsums included 1 Hargau of Prawn & Straw Mushroom dumpling, 1 Prawn & Chive dumpling, 1 Chicken Sui Mai dumpling & 1 Chicken & Basil dumpling all of these were amazing..

Chicken Soba Noodles: For the mains we ordered some authentic Soba noodles. Soba noodles are basically buckwheat noodles tossed with veggies & meat; a traditional cuisine in Japan .

Tangra Chicken: Along with the noodles we ordered for some Chicken gravy. This was soy based spicy gravy wok tossed with spring onion and veggies and perfectly complemented our noodles.

Beverages: For the refreshments we went for Sotoroberi Bajiru which was a strawberry based drink with loads of fresh herbs & lime. Secondly we tried the Asian Garden as the name sounded good and it was indeed good. A concoction of cucumber, mint and sweet kiwi, a must have.

Desserts: Finally we ended our meal with their house special Fried Icecream, vanilla icecream coated in cornflakes, deep fried and served with sweet syrup on top. Secondly we went for the Chocolate rose and it was a beauty indeed. Hard shelled chocolate rose served with a scoop of vanilla icecream. No sooner you break the rose you are surprised but some salted caramel, caramelized walnuts and some coconut powder just like layers in a cake. Definitely my fav and a must try.

Overall after a long time I found a place where almost each dish made me say wow. Totally satisfied and content starting from soup to desserts this definitely was a great culinary experience. Highly recommend...

Overall this is our take on @KhowChow: Ambience: 5/5 Service:5/5 Food: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5 Food we ordered: 1. 2. 3. Chicken Wings in Honey chilly Garlic sauce: I love honey chilli wings so this had to be ordered. Perfect crisp skinned wings tossed in nice chilly honey sauce for that sweet spicy taste. I love this dish a lot and it never fails to make me happy and content. 4. 5. Chicken Soba Noodles: For the mains we ordered some authentic Soba noodles. Soba noodles are basically buckwheat noodles tossed with veggies & meat; a traditional cuisine in Japan . 6. Tangra Chicken: Along with the noodles we ordered for some Chicken gravy. This was soy based spicy gravy wok tossed with spring onion and veggies and perfectly complemented our noodles. 7. 7. Highly recommend it. Happy Fooding 🙂
