After opening branches in several cities in southern India (like Bengaluru, Kochi, and Vijayawada), Kunafa World has made its way to the tony suburb of Bandra. A fairly tight-spaced parlour with a slice of open front yard, this could be your new space to hang out when the midnight sweet cravings come calling.

Kunafa, kunafeh, knafeh—call it by any name, this traditional Palestinian dessert is an institution and found across the Middle East. It is particularly associated with Nablus, a Palestinian commercial and cultural centre.
Sweet and crunchy in the outside, savoury and gooey inside, the classic kunafa is a sensory overload of delight. Typically made from the fine skin hairs of pastry called kateifi, it has long been a favourite among the Arab, Persian, Greek and Balkan states. There are a multitude of versions of this sweet.
A layered dessert, kunafa has a heart of stringy white briny locally made cheese and a crusty shell that is syrup dipped and pistachio topped to open up a world of flavour with every bite. Whether you are initiated or otherwise, the classic one with cheese filling or cream filling is a fail-proof option to choose.
Curious food lovers and explorers will surely find the iconic Palestinian version that has a softer crust and a heart filling of stringy Nabulsi cheese as their hot favourite. In fact, the Mumbai head of Kunafa World, Arshia Siddique, says they go the extra mile to source kateifi and Nabulsi cheese from the origin country for the close-to-home taste and experience.

This looks like Sutar Feni but tastes like Waffle in a thin vermicelli form. I ordered the assorted minis to get the taste of the different Kunafas. And trust me every bit I took it was a out of the world experience and the richness of the taste made me feel absolutely satisfied with it.
Cream Kunafa is the traditional preparation and has a buttery creamy filling and it is not too sweet, and you need to add the sugar kesar syrup add the sweetness but otherwise the creamy taste with the waffle taste of the vermicelli makes it a heavenly bite.
Nutella Kunafa was my favourite as the Nutella taste meshed well the Kunafa taste. And also, the caramel one was my second favourite because of the same reason.
