Extremely Disappointing Experience - Bombay Home Company Falls Short of Expectations
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ 1/5
I recently booked a stay for my parents at Bombay Home Company's property called Imperial B in Chuim Village, Bandra West, and I must say, our experience was far from satisfactory. Despite our high hopes and the promising images displayed on their website, the reality did not match their claims of providing an international standard of service. Moreover, their exorbitant prices, even surpassing those of 4-star hotels, were not justified by the lacklustre customer service we received throughout our stay.
Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the room was not cleaned up to the expected standard, and to add to our woes, the air conditioner was constantly leaking (even got proof as i am unable to add the video in this thread).
Despite multiple requests, it took them until the next day to send a technician to address the issue. Furthermore, for two consecutive days, the Wi-Fi connection malfunctioned, rendering the smart TV useless.
After our initial booking of 5 nights, my parents expressed their desire to extend their stay, and despite being charged an exorbitant amount that exceeded the original price, we reluctantly proceeded with the booking. We chose convenience over finding an alternative accommodation, as nothing else was available at the time. Shockingly, we were charged a staggering amount of over 20k plus for just 4 additional nights.
On the last day of our stay, my father fell ill, causing a slight delay in our check-out time. Instead of displaying understanding and compassion, Bombay Home Company bombarded us with incessant phone calls, pressuring us to leave. Although I requested an extension and offered to pay for the entire day, the lady on the phone displayed rudeness and a complete lack of courtesy.
Eventually, they begrudgingly granted us an extension until 12:15, but their actions were highly disrespectful. One of their staff members arrived at our door, continuously knocking and demanding that we "get out," as if we were unwelcome intruders. This treatment of elderly customers was absolutely unacceptable and lacked any sense of humanity.
Furthermore, despite charging such exorbitant rates, they still had the audacity to charge extra for housekeeping. Even after several requests, we saw no sign of any housekeeping services.
I strongly advise against using Bombay Home Company's services. The glimmering facade they present online does not reflect the reality of their accommodations. The staff members working for this organization are rude and lack basic courtesy. They exploit their customers under the pretense of being a reputable brand, all the while lacking professionalism and experience in the hospitality industry.
I urge anyone seeking accommodation in this area to choose Airbnb over Bombay Home Company. This establishment's lack of professionalism and experience should be exposed and discussed widely. Even hotels with lower star ratings provide better service and respect towards their guests. Our experience with Bombay Home Company was nothing short of a nightmare, and they need to be held accountable for their...

I would urge everyone to think twice before booking this hotel – avoid it at all costs!
My experience at the Astra Property was a complete nightmare from start to finish. Here’s the rundown:
Misleading Pricing and Website Incompetence: Attempting to book on their poorly managed website was my first red flag. The site initially displayed a rate of Rs. 9,622/- for the room, but after filling in all the required details, there was mysteriously no way to proceed with payment. After struggling with their glitchy site for 10 minutes, I contacted their WhatsApp support. They fixed the issue, but suddenly, the room price had jumped to Rs. 10,500/- within the span of 30 minutes! An outrageous price hike with zero transparency, and no explanation provided – all for a standalone property with no competitive price factors.
Deceptive Property Description and Lack of Accessibility: Upon arrival, I was shocked to find that this "service apartment" is situated in a rundown, dilapidated building on the second floor, with no elevator. This crucial detail about the lack of accessibility was conveniently omitted from their website. I was forced to haul my luggage up a narrow, poorly lit stairway – an exhausting and infuriating start to my stay.
Non-Functional Amenities and Ignored Service Requests: The worst part? The air conditioning in the room was broken for the entire duration of my two-night stay! I contacted the support team on the first day, only to be assured that it would be repaired the following morning as maintenance staff was unavailable at night. I reminded them the next day, and they called to confirm access to my room while I was out, promising it would be fixed. Yet, when I returned late in the evening, the AC was still non-functional! Exhausted after a long workday, I was appalled to find myself in the same sweltering room. When I reached out to customer service yet again, they gave me the same excuse – maintenance was "unavailable" at that hour. A classic brush-off.
Refund Dodging and Blame Shifting: When I checked out, I requested a refund for the miserable, overpriced stay. Instead of addressing my valid complaint, they began dodging responsibility, suggesting that I had somehow "used the remote wrong" or that the AC was actually working, despite it clearly not cooling the room. Initially, they pretended to discuss the matter with senior management, only to later deny any compensation.
In summary: I paid a ridiculous Rs. 10,500 for two nights of discomfort in a dilapidated property with no AC, no refund policy, and terrible service. For this amount, you can easily book a reputable hotel in the area with genuine service and functioning amenities. Save yourself the frustration and money – avoid this inhospitable, unprofessional...
Read moreI recently had a business event in Mumbai and booked three rooms for four days. Atika was assigned as our host, and unfortunately, our checkout experience was extremely disappointing. Our scheduled checkout was at 11:00 AM, but we had a client meeting at 10:00 AM. Before leaving, I informed Atika that we would return before the official checkout time and requested that housekeeping not enter the rooms, as we still had some important belongings to pack.
To our surprise, when we returned at 11:10 AM, housekeeping had already entered the rooms—despite my clear request. I chose not to escalate the issue at that point.
Additionally, we received several return gifts from clients, and our luggage was full. I immediately contacted my courier partner to arrange pickup of the extra luggage from the Airbnb. As we had to leave for the airport, I politely asked Atika if we could leave the extra bags there for just 45 minutes until the courier arrived. She refused, which I respect as a matter of policy.
However, what was unacceptable is that Atika only sent me a message about the company’s late checkout option at 11:49 AM—long after we had already left—seemingly in an attempt to cover her tracks.
I could pursue legal action, and I will consider doing so at the appropriate time. In the meantime, I strongly urge you to review the conduct of your hosts. This experience has ensured that I will not be booking with your Airbnb again, and I intend to share this experience with others.
To future guests: please be cautious. The service provided may fall far below what you’d reasonably expect...
