The Fatty Bao!! This beautiful restaurant in bandra is making a buzz, and the quality of food, service and ambiance they offer just proves everything. I visited the place on a sunday afternoon with my friends and it was almost houseful situation there. The crowd visiting is classy!! The place is too exquisite, classy and creates a quick happy vibe! The ambiance is beautiful. There are two seating areas in all, the outdoor one is cool and you can have a smoke there. Seatings are comfortable, outdoor had more light too. The indoors were too cozy, AC for a obvious reason, background music tracks and a chilled vibe! I liked the indoor one more as it was no too bright nor too dark, definition of a perfect Sunday lunch! Many more reasons to visit the fatty bao, the advanced service and use of technology was one thing to observe. Even bartenders had their own pcs to see the orders. The bar section is small yet catchy! Decorated with lights and some designs! Also to add, these guys serve authentic food only! Authentic Chinese and Japanese food treat you will never find anywhere! A treat or say heaven for all the pan asian food lovers/foodies!! The service is really really good. Every attendant is polite towards their service, bar tenders work was superb! The chefs are too good at their work, every order was literally served under 10 minutes on the table. Super super quick service! 100/100 for service! Some recommendations: 1) Popcorn sour - An excellent Whiskey based cocktail! Marvelous presentation topped with some real popcorns. This cocktail was on a stronger side! Liked each and every sip of it, happy trips are on this!! 2) Bora Bora - Another amazing cocktail, a fusion of pear juice and Absolute Vodka! Heavy on the Absolute's side! Adding more that, it was also sweet so incase looking for a sweet taste in your vodka, go for BORA BORA! Authentic chinese and japanese starters- 1) Curried Crab meat and Tobbico - An excellent preparation of crab meat dumplings! One of the best dumplings ever had! The taste of crab meat was at another level. Served in a closed hot dumplings pot, it was all about having them one by one and enjoying your drink with these fabulously cooked dumplings! 2) Prawn Tempura Roll - This is a sushi, complete bliss for you when you are a prawn lover! Shushi roll with deep fried prawn in it is super delicious! 8 pieces of sushi rolls were served! Highly recommended! 3) BBQ Chicken Bao (closed bao) - The signature BBQ chicken bao was a must have starter as the restaurant name is itself has "BAO" in it. The bao was seved hot and filled with luscious BBQ chicken. This is healthy too! Highly recommended! Mains- 1) Fatty Pho Ramen - Ordered a 1 by 2 portion size of fatty pho ramen. This one was unique and signature as they stated! Very very healthy ramen consisting of black brinjal dipped noodles, sprouts, boiled egg, clear cooked chicken and the very much delicious soup! A huge portion size is served! Can easily make a person completely full. This was my first experience with authentic ramen and was served very well! Desserts- 1) Zen Forest - A fancy, decorated like a forest dessert! Yet another healthy option at the fatty bao, had beet root and black pepper sorbet, yuzu parfait, black sesame sponge, sesame nougatine! An excellently made healthy dessert option + best to end a meal with! 2) Custard apple Panacotta - Good panacotta served with super sexy lychee yoghurt Ice-cream! A treat for all the panacotta lovers! Must Have. Ratings:- Food - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 An overall 5 star lunch experience at the fatty bao! This was one mesmerizing lunch at fatty bao, cheers to the entire team for all the hardwork they are putting in. Looking forward to visit them for a saturday lunch! Cheers! 💯💯

The fatty bao Located near busy street of bandra linking road this is an incredible outlet which serves pan asian cuisines. Entrance of the lutlet is quite quirky. There are both indoor and outdoor sections. Ambience is really nice with adequate lights. A bar near indoor section entrance looks well equipped. I liked the seatings arrangements at this outlet. Mix of high table and normal ones with different sizes. Sofas are really comforting and pretty much give asian feel. Overall very imposing place to enjoy cuisines. Service was just amazing. Staff here was very attentive and helful. Had enough knowledge of everything on the menu. Nothing to complain about. Coming to the food and drinks!! We started with mocktails. Ordered Sakura sakura and Peach fizzler. Both the mocktail were truly refreshing. Sakura Sakura is served like an sangria and is blend of apple and sugercane syrup. Served in big wine glass. Peach fizzler was amazing mocktail with blends of peach orange and lime flavours. Both the mocktail were droolworthy For starter we ordered Smoked chicken spinach gyoza. These pan stirred gyozas were extremely delectable. Finely cooked chicken with spinach stuffed inside gyoza tasted delicious. Then tried Char grilled firecracker chicken bao. This was a open bao stuffed with grilled chicken and cucumber alongwith lettuce. It was mix of tangy sweet and spicy stuffed bao. Combination of these flavours was amazing. Definitely a must try item. For main we tried Braised chicken in celery soy alongwith Chilli and basil fried rice. Both the main were really authentic ones. Braised chicken in celery soy souce is a chinese delicacy. It was thick gravy with chicken broccoli sesame and other tasty ingredients. Gravy was extremely flavoursome. To go with it we tried chili basil fried rice. This rice was coocked with chilli flavours and mix of chicken and eggs in it. Portions were really good. More than enough for 2 people. Rice and braised chicken soy tasted perfect. To end with we tried two desserts. Japanese cheesecake and Cocoa caramel. Japanese cheesecake was fluffy soff cheesecake. Perfect texture, right amount of flavours, topped with cherries and served with vanilla bean ice cream this cheesecake was definitely worth every penny. Then tried cocoa caramel. Which was a thin chocolate cake topped with cocoa milk chocolate cream. It was served with salted caramel gel and salted caramel ice cream. Presentation was impeccable. Flavourful chocolate cream and perfect combination of caramel with cocoa. Loved this one. Here's everything we tried- *Mocktails* • Sakura Sakura • Peach fizzler *Appetizers* • Smoked chicken and spinach gyoza • Char firecracker chicken bao *Mains* • Braised chicken in celery soy sauce • Chili basil fried rice *Desserts* • Japanese cheecake • Cocoa caramel Overall we had a wonderful time visiting this place for dinner. Will surely visit again!! Cheers!

Linking Road in Bandra is home to some of the best food in the city, and one of the best asian joints in the place is The fatty Bao. It has a modern, chic vibe crossed with a vibrant and sassy decor, perfect for a date night, or for a hangout sesh with friends. The decor feels inspired by Malay/Singaporean cafes, with a lot of the artwork depicting the same, and it comes off pretty well. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, though the indoor seating is a bit cramped, but that's mostly fine. They do have a small bar serving the usual suspects, as well as some of their own stuff. While I didn't get to order a large chunk of their menu, whatever I had was pretty great. Their name is definitely apt, as the baos I got were plump and pillowy, and the filling was perfect. I got the pork char siu baos, and the pork was fatty and melt in your mouth, complimented nicely by a slice of raw apple, giving it a fruity kick. Every Bao order comes with two, making it perfect for date night. I also got their raw papaya salad, which was one of the best renditions of the dish I've eaten in Mumbai. It was tangy, sweet and spicy in just the right amounts, and wasn't just a refreshing palate cleanser, but a great meal by itself. It's also a very generous portion making it great for sharing. The last thing I got were Chicken and asparagus dumplings, which didn't impress me as much, as I've had better dumplings in the same price range. They weren't bad but not particularly great either. The filling was generous, but it lacked in flavor. For 6 pieces, it was not the best value, and I recommend trying other dumplings, or avoiding dumplings all together. Overall, I would rate both the Char Siu Bao and the Papaya Salad a solid 9/10, and the dumplings about a 6.5/10. Definitely go for their baos( pretty obvious given their name). The service was fine, but they do tend to ignore the smaller tables and focus on the bigger groups, and it was also pretty busy on the day I visited. But I did see other tables also not receiving food at the proper times, so I'd rate the service a little lower, like a 6/10. Definitely could do with some improvement. The Fatty Bao definitely ticks a lot of the boxes, though they do miss a little bit in their service, and cocktail variety, though I did not have the opportunity to try it. However, they more than make up for it with their snazzy decor and contemporary vibe, along with some pretty great food. I highly recommend checking the place out if you're out shopping in Linking Road and need to grab some lunch or dinner. You're definitely gonna be leaving a happy and fatty bao when you're done. Final rating- 8.5/10, definitely recommend.

Here's everything we tried-

Mocktails • Sakura Sakura • Peach fizzler

Appetizers • Smoked chicken and spinach gyoza • Char firecracker chicken bao

Mains • Braised chicken in celery soy sauce • Chili basil fried rice

Desserts • Japanese cheecake • Cocoa caramel

I recently got an opportunity to visit The Fatty Bao's Andheri outlet and was truly amazed with their awesome menu and services.

By sheer coincidence, this time while I was at Bandra, I happened to visit their outlet once again.

The moment you enter the restaurant, it gives you an extremely positive and warm vibes. Certainly, the staff make it a point to make you feel so and on top of it, the ambience and the food make it even more enduring.

Located in the heart of Bandra West (Linking Road), this place surely stands out in reference to Pan Asian cuisines.

When it comes to our dining experience, I made it a point to order altogether different food items and not to repeat what we dined at their Andheri outlet.

For a change, I have made it a point that whenever, I get an opportunity to visit a Pan Asian restaurant, I will try and avoid going for mocktail personally. Reason being, I am an ardent fan of herbal tea and these restaurants serves really authentic herbal and Chinese tea – something different to try out plus the tea also helps in digestion and gives you a soothing effect throughout your dining experience.

Tea/Mocktails:

Pu-Erh: Served in a tea pot and enough for 4 people, this tea is worth trying out. You know that while you are gorging on yummy food, tea is there to assist you in the digestion.

Peach Fizzler: This one was ordered by my friend. A perfect concoction of Peach, Apricot, Orange and Lime juice. Every sip is refreshing and a perfect drink to enjoy along with your food.

Starters:

Assorted Seafood Dimsums: You will love it. 3 different flavors of seafood dimsums - Monkfish Calamari, Prawn & Spinach, and Curried Crab Meat. All were nicely prepared and served with flavoured sauces.

Prawn Tempura Sushi: I tried Sushi for the first time. You need to develop a taste to enjoy Sushi. I loved the presentation of these tiny perfect and tasty rolls. Worth trying out

Spicy Cottage Cheese & Spring Onion Bao: While we tried the Chicken Bao at the Andheri outlet, we decided to go for Veg Bao this time at the Bandra outlet. While the presentations were same at both the outlet, tastes were definitely unique. 4 pieces of Baos served along with 3 different types of sauces.

Maincourse:

Chinese Chicken Mixian: Rice noodles served along with Chicken Broth, boiled egg, Spinach and Wild Mushroom was worth trying out. The quantity is sufficient for two people

Desserts:

Custard Apple Panna Cotta: For all those vegetarians, you can try this out. Lychee yoghurt ice cream served along with Raspberry caviar and black sesame.

Avocado White Chocolate Cremeux: Though am not an ardent fan of Avocado but the moment I tried this, I just loved it. Served along with salted coconut ice-cream, this Avocado parfait is an eggless dessert and surely vegetarians will love it.

Overall, we had a nice experience being here and hope to...
