Smoke House Deli Pali Hill — Restaurant in Mumbai

We went here for the weekend brunch or breakfast or whatever it's called. While the first visit was wonderful, the second was downright disappointing, to put it very mildly.

Firstly, we were made to sir outside saying that we will be accomodated inside as soon as a table gets vacant. That didn't happen. And in front of us, three ladies just trotted inside and sat down on a vacant table that we should have been accomodated on. If we were made to wait, so should they have.

Secondly, the service was very poor and extremely slow. Our drinks came quickly, but the food only came after I personally went in and made a noise asking where the test of the order was. Mind you, this happened after me and my husband politely asking at least twice.

Finally, when the order arrived, the food was cold and by then honestly we were just disgusted with the entire experience.

Smoke House Deli, a few tips for your consideration: Have the graciousness and courtesy to treat all your guest equally. Consistency is the name of the game. If you hit a 10 on 10 in the first time and then perform poorly after, it has no meaning. Train your staff to be more attentive. When they see a guest standing with a query, it must be immediately attended to, if you want to be considered above average in this business. Most guests come to dine at a particular location or restaurant because of the "experience" that they may have experienced in the past. Great or Good food means nothing without your guests stamp of approval. Customer delight is everything.

And lastly, if you cannot manage large number of guests on weekends, then either change your offering or step up and meet the Demand with top notch quality and preparedness.

Having chosen the place for a get together of friends after a span of about 2.5 years, expectations were simple and basic but all things basic were wrong in this place … Music was very very loud for breakfast time, could not hear the person sitting next … the attending person was presumably new to the job and had no idea of the various items on the menu … french press served cold and very late … no almond or soy milk option … the avocado toast was average with too much salt sprinkled over … even basic classic pancakes were served cold and without maple syrup. The worst part was that all the items were served late. The restaurant did make a mention to compensate for delayed serving by not charging for one drink; but we had not gone there for freebies.
