Maaslli Restaurant & Bar, at Kemps Corner, Mumbai. Basically a Sea food Restaurant, but also have other non veg dishes on their platter. One cannot afford to miss the fried Bombil (Fresh, Fried Bombay Ducks). They have a great Menu. They do have various Thali dishes and other alcarte dishes. It is just mouth watering and thus unable to put in words to describe the dishes. One must enjoy the crab dishes and crab soup. They also present you their fresh catch and you may select the fish if your choice, depending upon the weight the rate is fixed. The atmosphere is damn cool and decent with fishes reflecting in the walls and partisans. The curry, different types is served and we are asked to taste, then by adding coconut oil again to try. Thus if you are ordering any curry dish you can select your choice of curry. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The person, Mr. Anthony, accepting the order is very polite and well versed with the description of the dishes. Service is quite fast and dishes are very tempting. The complete crockery is if copper OR may be brass (not sure). But it is a real experience to have your food in such dish and even the fork and spoon. The soup was something different from the normal ones which all must have experienced. Crab soup, very tasty and hot enough and goes without saying very tasty. Sweet dish of Modak and a sweetening dish made if milk and sprinkled with pista, woh! Lovely. The dishes are well place and economically rated. If you are in that area, do give a try and taste the tasty dishes, yes! Definitely one have a inclination and a taste for Sea Food. The Bar is open and you have choices of hard drinks, Cocktails and even Mocktails. A seperate Menu displaying the drinks is maintained. Do visit, you will not regret nor your pockets will be pinched. Enjoy the Sea Food and...
Read moreI finally revisited Maaslli – Saraswat and GSB Speciality last night for my annual catch-up with friends, and once again, it reminded me why this place is rightly awarded the best seafood restaurant in Mumbai.
We started off with their seafood soup, which was practically a treasure hunt in a bowl, packed with so many varieties of seafood that I stopped trying to count after a few spoonfuls. A rich, flavorful start that set the tone for the evening.
Next came the Bombil Fry, and let me say this: if you visit Maaslli and skip this, you’re missing the highlight of the menu. Perfectly crisp on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth inside, it was unanimously the table favorite.
The Prawns Ghee Roast, their signature dish, followed, aromatic, buttery, and spicy in all the right ways. You could taste the freshness of the prawns through the layers of ghee and masala.
I ordered the cucumber mint cooler as a palette cleanser, one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I’ve had. Truly impressed by the bar at this outlet
To round things off, we indulged in the Crab Gravy with Bhakri, a true coastal comfort combination. The gravy had that home-style depth of flavor that only comes from slow cooking and authentic spices.
Between the impeccable flavors, warm service, and the nostalgic coastal touch in every dish, Maaslli continues to set the gold standard for seafood in Mumbai. Can’t wait for next year’s reunion, though honestly, I might not wait that...

Tucked away on Grand Road, Maaslli Seafood is a no-frills gem that delivers some of the best seafood we’ve had in the city. Five of us went all out—and every dish delivered.
The Crispy Bombil Fry was a knockout—light, golden, and just the right amount of crunch. Prawns Lasooni Fry had that perfect garlicky punch, and the Clams Bhujane and Squid Butter Garlic were flavour-packed and cooked to perfection. The curries, especially the Bangda Tirfal and Prawns Karwari Phanna, were bold, spicy, and full of coastal character.
Sides like the Kolam Rice, Bhakari, and Chapati were perfect pairings, but what stole the show was the Solkadi—cool, tangy, and refreshingly well-balanced. We ordered seconds.
The Crab Chef Special was indulgent and totally worth it. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly—one of the best we’ve had in a while.
The meal was incredible value for the quality. If you love seafood, Maaslli is an absolute must-visit.
5/5. Go hungry.
