Review of my 2017 Visit for my fatherâs treatment. We traveled all the way from Indore after hearing very encouraging feedback about Dr. Parikhâs treatment only to be met with a series of disappointments courtesy Dr. Parikh and his sloppy assistant Jayanti.
The doctors approach to patient care and its financial practices have left me profoundly dissatisfied. My wife was in constant communication with Dr. Parikhâs assistant Jayanti, ensuring that we followed all the necessary protocols and were prepared for the treatment process. Even on the day before our departure to Mumbai, my wife had informed Jayanti about our upcoming visit. However, upon our arrival at the hospital, we were met with utter disbelief as the staff seemed completely unaware of our scheduled visit. The lack of coordination and preparedness was nothing short of a shock. What makes this journey even more dispiriting is the revelation that Dr. Parikh was not even aware of our scheduled procedure. Our decision to travel from Indore to Mumbai was not taken lightly. It required significant time and effort to make the necessary arrangements for the journey. We had high hopes that the treatment at Asian Cancer Institute would bring relief to my father and put an end to his suffering. However, upon our arrival at the hospital, it was shocking to discover that Dr. Parikh, who was supposed to oversee the procedure, was not even informed about our scheduled treatment. The fact that our well-thought-out plans were met with such a lack of coordination and communication was deeply frustrating and disheartening. The entire journey, both emotionally and financially, was a considerable investment for our family. While we understand that mistakes can occur, it is essential for a hospital of your stature to ensure that such lapses do not happen, especially when patients and their families are investing not only their money but their hope in your institution.
This confusion and frustration escalated when we were only informed at the last moment that the charges sent to us via email were meant to cover each individual session, not the complete treatment process. During our last meeting with Dr. Parikh, he assured us that Jayanti would provide the estimated cost of the entire process. Remarkably, in all our subsequent interactions with Jayanti through phone and email, the critical information regarding per-session charges was inexplicably omitted. We even explicitly requested this information from Jayanti, but it was not communicated as it should have been.
While I may have been willing to accept the per-session charges, the mishandling of this information seriously eroded our trust in the entire process. It gave the impression that the hospital staff disregarded the value of patients' time and concerns.
Dr. Parikh, your reputation as a highly skilled doctor in the field is unquestionable. However, I regret to inform you that the management at Asian Cancer Institute leaves much to be desired. My observations were not limited to our situation, as I witnessed several other patients struggling with billing-related issues at the counter. It was evident that a significant portion of the hospital staff lacked the necessary knowledge of treatment processes and associated costs.
While I understand that this feedback may not hold the same weight as a medical diagnosis, it is essential that the management of Asian Cancer Institute recognizes these issues and takes immediate steps to rectify them. The wellbeing and satisfaction of patients and their families should always be a top priority in any medical institution. I hope that my concerns lead to meaningful improvements in patient care and financial transparency to ensure that other families do not endure the same...
Read moreI recently had the privilege of receiving care at Cumballa Hill Hospitaland I can confidently say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed with warmth, efficiency, and genuine compassion by the entire team.
Dr. Mubeena deserves a very special mention. She is not only an outstanding doctor but also an incredibly kind and understanding human being. Her ability to listen attentively, explain everything clearly, and handle situations with such calm and confidence made a world of difference in my experience. Her expertise and care went beyond just medical treatmentâshe truly made me feel safe, heard, and respected. It's rare to find someone who combines professionalism with so much empathy, and Iâm deeply grateful to have been under her care.
Reshma, was another shining light throughout my time there. Her dedication, positive attitude, and constant support made a noticeable impact. Whether it was coordinating things smoothly or just being there with a reassuring presence, she made me feel cared for like family. Her warmth and helpfulness truly made the hospital environment feel less clinical and more human.
Overall, Cumballa Hill Hospital is not just a healthcare facilityâitâs a place where people truly care. The entire team, from doctors to nurses to admin staff, works with heart. I feel incredibly grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend this hospital to anyone looking for excellent medical treatment delivered with compassion...
Read moreMy mother was admitted on 9/7/2020 for twisted intestine and was operated on 10/7/2020 by Dr. Satish Rao. I was care taker for her. Every one from Hospital was taking care of patients and themselves in view of Covid-19. She got best and totally transparent treatment. Entire staff was totally cooperative as well as supportive. During her stay in ICU, even though I was not allowed to meet her due to Pandemic, staff used to brief me on her health twice a day and allowed video call. Dr Satish Rao personally used to call me once or twice a day as well as used to visit to give his opinion and "future" course of action, based on "current" situation. Her health deteriorated despite of successful operation due to earlier prolong weakness. Dr Rao continued his support on humanitarian level, even though his part was successfully over earlier. Entire staff tried level best to revive her from this. They made me aware of situation every now and then. She breathed her last on 21/7/2020. It was my personal loss but I must say, she got best possible treatment during her stay and there was not a room for any complaint on that front.
Though expensive, treatments justifies it.
Few points I would like to draw attention at,
1... Try to reduce time consuming paper work. It took almost 6 hours to get her mortal remains
2... Bathrooms for ICU waiting rooms don't have any hooks or racks to keep cloths. It is very...
