Maroosh — Restaurant in Mumbai

I have deleted Swiggy & Zomato and no longer order food from them. Because of this, I have started to pick up food myself once in a while when I am around a restaurant I like. Last evening, I walked into Maroosh, on Union Road, Bandra West, for their smoked garlic hummus and I was left shocked. Before I walked in, Nasir was holding a blue jhadoo and showing Umer something with it. No one greeted me as I walked in. They looked dirty and messy and were behind the counter. I asked for hummus to be packed and Nasir (clearly more senior) took out pita bread, cleaned the grill, started the process. No gloves, sanitiser, washing, etc. he asked Umer for the olives, and Umer took his right hand, and put it inside the liquid container of olives and started taking some out. I immediately yelled and asked if they don’t own spoons and wtf are they doing? Imagine the dirt in that water these guys must have collected, omg!!! Umer looked at me and just walked away- no words spoken. Nasir looked at me and didn’t say anything and opened another container of olives and took one out with a spoon and said - “yeh de rahe hai ok?” I again told him how bizarre it is that they are operating like this and without a care in the world. I said I don’t want the food and asked their names and walked away. I hope people realise how disgusting a practice that is. Now that we order food all the time, we don’t see how clean and hygienic the staff packing our food is. God save this country. Inspections across our country need to take place and licenses to serve food revoked immediately for all these crooks!!!! I’m not eating from this disgusting...

Yummy food. Chicken shawarma is a must try. Even veg food is quite good. There was hardly any queue for ordering and even the preparation time...
