Punjab Grill - Just one word. AWESOME. Ambiance/Decor/Vibe/Service and obviously food. Nothing went wrong. Just a week + old and absolutely no flaws. As far as the Ambiance and the decor go - by far the best in Mumbai (Heard Washington Dc) is better. Anyways coming to food, skipped the Soup (though I was Tempted to try the Tamatar Dhaniya Shorba)
Starters along with the beer - Tandoori Jheenga (their way of making it) Different. Basically jumbo prawns with a marination of Ginger/garlic/yellow chilli and a bit of lime. Tandoored. This was a beauty of a dish. Went well with their Chutney and a must try.
Bhatti Da Murg - Rusty earthy texture and lovely flavours. Spices/Aroma yet balanced and subtle. Big chunks of chicken soft tender with Bones had a good texture. Had the Mustard hit as well. Hung curd gave the richness along with roasted onion paste and homemade spices. Loved it.
Seekh Kebab - back to the original. They had experimented with the Fort Outlet. This has the old recipe. Their Signature dish. They call it RAUNAQEEN SEEKHAN (Mutton) Hand pounded rusty in texture served piping got along with Mint chutney and let the food do the taking. Not over powering. Marination of Ginger/Green chillies/lime/coriander and the Delhi chaat masala. Wooh this was awesome.
Veg Starters - Quinoa Methi di Tikki, this was a surprise. A bit healthy. Pan seared quinoa with fresh Fenugreek some red chills and turmeric and herbs. Subtle in taste. Different and yet classy.
Dahi De kebab - A must order dish at this place. The Best I could say I had. Soft melt in mouth. Can come here 365 days to have this. Golden in colour had the tangy taste from the hung curd. Cardamom was distinct. Green chillies and coriander and a bit of fennel. Hats off chef to make it perfect.
Tandoori Broccoli - Again their signature dish not to be missed. Big pieces Tandoored well. Richness written all over. Marinated in Cheese/cream/curd/cashew with a touch of cardamom. Wow.
Mains: Veg we tried the Pindi Chana (speciality of Punjab) authentic as it gets. Had the punch/flavours yet balanced? Semi dry. Chickpeas with onions tomatoes and tamarind which gives you that tangy taste. Do try. A delight for the Vegetarians.
Dal Punjab Grill - again a must have dish (Signature) Over night slow cooked lentil (kali Daal) with Rajma cream butter. This has tomato base gravy. Rich and Famous as all over the world. Punjab Grill keep the consistency going. Went well with the Naan.
Non Veg - One of the best NALI NIHARI I have ever tasted. Slow Cooked. Texture velvety. Basically Lamb Shank. Again richness written all over. Gravy was just fantastic. Had Curd/chilli/cardamom (aroma) Roasted onion gravy. Loved it.
Did not try the rice - opted for the Naan and One bread which they call it Chur Chur Naan - This was again unique. Crushed with a bit of apricot to give that tad sweetness loaded with butter and stuffed with Gobhi.
The Bar is FANTASTIC, though I stuck to my beer. Definitely coming back.
By the way Capital Building has a lot of corporate crowd. Punjab Grill has already started a morning Buffet from 12 to 4 priced at 795++ (Veg) 895++ (non Veg) go for it. This place is here to stay as far as the food goes. Thumps up. Go...

Read moreI wanted to go out for a peaceful dinner with my bestie and we were in the mood to eat North Indian food. I opted to go through Zomato to find something and across this North Indian Heaven.
Located in the Capital Building in BKC, Punjab Grill is known for it's authentic North Indian Cuisine.
The ambiance is very rich, very royal. There are pictures of the royals of Punjab on the wall. They have a huge bar. They also habe Zomato Gold on drinks which makes it a plus point.
Coming to the food we tried here...
Bhatti Da Murgh :
Tandoori Chicken is my favorite. So far I have liked the Tandoori Chicken at every restaurant I tried. But here, I was just in Tandoor Heaven. I am in Love with the Tandoori Chicken here. Called Bhatti da Murgh, they have beautiful chicken pieces marinated in punjabi tandoori masala and cooked in tandoori. Perfectly cooked from the inside and crispy and flavorful from the outside, this is a must try for all chicken lovers.
Raunaqueen Mutton Seekhan :
Mutton Seekh Kebab, very beautifully cooked, melt in the mouth, not very spicy. Amazing for those who love mutton.
Dahi de Kebab :
My vegetarian friend had asked me to try this so I thought to give this a try. Very soft kebab, with rich flavor of cardamom. Goes well with the chutney. Best for vegetarians.
Tandoori Shakarkandi :
Shakarkandi or Sweet Potato is something that I love. On chefs reccomendations, we tried this dish. Finger sized pieces of Sweet Potato marinated in curd and spices and then cooked in tandoor. The best sweet potato dish I have ever had. Its crispy, soft, tasty, heavenly, all at the same time.
*HIGHLY RECOMMENDED *
Dal Punjab Grill :
Dal Makhani, a speciality of Punjab Grill. Very creamy, very rice. We had this with the Amritsari Aloo Kulcha and also with steamed rice. Went well with both the combinations.
Aloo Kulcha was very soft, not at all chewy and the stuffing of potatoes inside was very mild, not too many spices. It was cooked in tandoor and had tht distinct flavor. Loved it.
For the dessert..
Jalebi Rabdi te Garam Dudh :
Classic dish. Crispy fresh Jalebi with yummy rabdi and a small glass of hot flavored milk. Just perfect.
The staff and hospitality is really good. Its a perfect place for a date or spending time with family. Very serene, very...
