Let me begin by saying that this is by far the best thali I've had where I enjoyed almost each dish served. I'm not comparing it with any other thali place as each is unique in their own right. The place is quite big, simplistic and can easily accomodate eighty people, every table having Bisleri water bottles.
As soon as we were seated, a bowl of colorful Fryumus found its way on the table, followed by the welcome drink and starters. White Dhokla that was sweet (it had some red colored tuti-fruti in it) went well with the mint-coriander chutney. The crispy Veg Lollipop plucked in on small wooden icecream spoons were amazing, more so with the spicy hot Chinese chutney. The little heart-shaped Veg Cutlets were a delight with the sweet tamarind chutney.
The main course, that was had with wheat chapatis topped with a dallop of pure ghee, included Palak Moong Dal ki sabji that was a healthy treat. Paneer Kashmiri was an unusual sweet gravy with cubes of cottage cheese as well as fruits like pineapple in it. I generally don't like Ragda but I totally loved theirs. Mildly spiced and cooked to perfection! Aloo Rasa complemented the plain rice very well. The Moong Khichdi topped with pure desi ghee was melt-in-the-mouth and tasted even better when had with the Gujarati Kadhi. There were also two types of Dal - plain Gujarati Dal and a masala dal to be had with the rice.
Small round deep fried Pooris raised the Aamras at a completely different level than it already was. I could have just that for lunch, it was that good! The soft Gulab Jamun and simple Sheera were equally amazing. Everything was washed down with a glass of delicious chaas.
For INR 425 it's a great deal. The service was quick however we had issues in our card payment due to lack of knowledge of the staff. However, it was solved quickly and we left with contented tummies. Recommended if you are in Bandra or BKC looking for authentic...

Read moreFull marks for the concept, presentation, service, pricing and interiors but it lacks a bit on taste of food. I am not saying thier food is bad, some items are excellent but others are not up to the mark.
I'll first talk about the things in menu which I liked that is jeera roti which was cute, crispy, delicious. Moong Dal halwa was too sweet but tasty. Mini phulkas were hot and soft with perfect shape, kheer was yummy, dhoklas were so soft and delicious, fried bread snack item was crispy and tasted good, Khichdi was okay. Chat was tasty, chass and kokum sherbet good.
Items which failed to impress were the three types of sabzi which were tasteless and I had no good option to eat the roti with. Kadhi was just fine. Sambhar Dal was okay.
We had to wait a lot as we arrived during lunch break and many still waited so the waiters served us the food too hurriedly.
I loved the Interiors and the traditional costume of the staff. It was awesome. For 400 bucks it is...
