Visit 2 I tried salmon and chef special lamb racks here. The former was one of the best I have ever had, while the latter was although good but a little tough to consume. The head chef also visited my table and I enjoyed a few mins of conversation with him. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Visit 3 The popular chef has left, and so have the quality & standards ... A dinner on a fine day at this premium property was not destined to go well. Romano's, a restaurant which I had visited twice before, known for its close to flawless service & dishes, typical Italian style preparation and cuisine, and not to forget the sea bass, which was the best ever I had eaten anywhere in the same level hotels, but now it was all history. Today, the same restaurant had a below-average experience in stock for me. Dishes took longer than the expected time. I had ordered a salmon and a sea bass and was told that it would take 20 and 25 mins respectively, but it took quite longer than that. While the salmon had a flaw, which upon complaining was first met with a response that it was good according to them, but they eventually agreed to replace it. Needless to say, taste buds do differ. Even on the second count, it didn't taste as it normally does. Surely not the first time I have tried it, and in fact, I have tried it in the same property a few times, and it was delicious previously, but this time, no offence intended, tasted weird. The quantity was too small, perhaps the smallest salmon I have eaten hitherto. This is highly likely because of the food festival discount which the restaurant offered. The second dish sea bass was not as good as last time, but still good enough. Again, the portion was quite small. The preparation was also different compared to last time. The bread basket which is otherwise served, wasn't in this case ( I saw other customers getting one ). Again, this could be because I was availing a food festival offer. Even the mocktails took over 15 mins to be served, which is surprising, and instructions of less ice weren't followed. The blue mocktail was on a mild sweet and tangy side, and tasted good. The yellow one was average. The quantity of mocktails was medium. The restaurant was not too crowded either, so the wait time is indeed surprising. Contrary to the case in the same level hotels, no one came to check in how the dishes were, and it was not easy to call the servers. The servers took a long time to come, and even when complained to someone in the coat ( I assume, a supervisor ), I was told sorry, but nothing changed. The supervisor didn't look much concerned about the experience and never came back to check if the concerns were resolved or not. Attempts to resolve the concern at a senior level later ( since they weren't resolved in the restaurant properly ) went in vain. I was told that the issue would be looked into. However, my further messages were met with no response, which talks loudly about how much the senior level cares for the customers. I wouldn't feel like going here again given their overall remiss approach. This wasn't even a four-star service. This is not the brand which I have known.

Romano's your go to place for authentic Italian food ! When you step into this place , you are welcomed by the high ceilings , dim lights and super smiling staff. You are transported to authentic Italian food with handpicked ingredients while the aroma of the wine enraptures you. Having tried so many places , I don't know but this place has some magic . From The courteous staff to the huge portions to the usage of exotic ingredients , everything just makes you feel like you are still at home to have a huge Italian meal . To commence , I begin with the wine . I chose an Italian wine . The flavour was strong as I am a dessert wine drinker but I still liked it . I have had the best soups in a long long time . Minestrone soup which is such a simple soup but barely few places master the art to this delicacy . Chef Roberto , all hands down to him . And and and the most unique of all , goat cheese carrot soup . The cheese was molten so the creaminess acted as a perfect blend with the carrot soup . You have to try this . Coming to appetisers , the mushroom Bruschetta is heavenly for Mushroom lovers I know you must be wondering why am I praising so much ? Because the quality of food along with its taste was so much on point that I can't remove a flaw . And no usually I like criticising the food if not ok ! Do try the piadina alforno which is another appetiser for its flavours , The food here is not spicy and so wholesome . Oh oh my my ! Next one as I am typing my mouth is watering - Burrata Cheese . The cheese was excellent- purely fresh . Obviously you come to an Italian joint and not have pizza is not possible . The Woodfire pizza is delicious . The way they make their dough is stunning . And then I had the wild mushroom risotto. It was presented so beautifully. I had a bite and I was exported into the world of authentic truffles and mushroom . Then we came to the desserts . The combination of raspberry icecream with authentic tiramisu was spell bound . Both of them go so well together and I have gorged onto both Next up , was the chefs special - Chocolate salame. It's pure indulgence with the kind of rich chocolate they use . The Chef Roberto is so kind and makes food with all his smiles which makes it better Ashuli , the restaurant manager pretty much is a favorite amongst the regular guests . While she came and spoke to me , three other guests come and say " We visit this place only because she is there" . She is full of warmth and vibrancy If it's authentic Italian , it is Romanos

Pranzo - Means Lunch in Italy. Romanos has this amazing feast @ 2000/+, having a look at the menu - perhaps a bit too half a dozen dishes extra. Also Includes Prosecco (sparkling wine N.E of Italy) goes well with the Pranzo Meal. Menu has a good balance of Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian. Small Portions. Presentation as good. Taste amazing. Started with: Pollo Marinato - Tangy in taste. Pickled Chicken (soft tender) with Bell pepper/Onions/tomatoes/olive oil - garnish microgreens. Nice refreshing dish. Insalata Di tonno - Tuna salad. Tomatoes/Onions/Olives oil. Overall tasted nice. Tuna was fresh. Liked it. La Golosa - A bit of resemblance to the Russian salad. Potato/Green peas/carrots/capsicum tossed in mayonnaise. Lovely texture. Served with salad leaves. A dash of olive oil and ready to go. Basically like homemade. Vegetarians delight. Verdure In Pastella - Broccoli/capsicum/onion (you can call it onion ring) Fried till golden brown in classic French butter. A tad too much of butter I guess. Bruschetta Miste - loved this. Tangy in taste. Assorted Vegetables. Bell pepper (Yellow/green) Zucchini marinated with lemon dressing a bit of pepper. Overall a lovely antipasti. Burrata in Pastella - one of the best I have had in recent times. Just melts in the mouth. It's all about balancing the creamy truffle which enhances the flavour with buffalo mozzarella. Placed over rocket leaves. Signature dish. Must try. Coming to Pizzas - They make their Base using three types of dough. Whole wheat/Refined Flour/toasted flour = lovely texture light. Sauce made in house. Tried the Vegetarian - buffalo mozzarella and mixed vegetables (Broccoli/zucchini/eggplant/roasted tomatoes/bell pepper) Nice crust. Overall a Naples speciality. The Non vegetarian had Tomato sauce/Buffalo Mozzarella and topped with Parma Ham (prosciutto) thinly sliced uncooked ham. This was a killer. Use of Rocket leaves have the sharpness and enhanced the pizza. Overall YUM. Frittata - loved this. Egg based Italian dish similar to an Omelette. Light fluffy. Ingredient used was broccoli. Home style cooking - simple yet classy. So perfect in taste. Must try. Insalata di Gamberi - wow, loved the Lemon dressing. Fresh salad. Basically Prawns (fresh catch) sliced into half a bit of pepper (nice hit) Carrots, placed over greens a couple of French beans. Just that lemony touch made a difference Loved having this. Vegetarian - Risotto Zafferano, made to perfection. Aromatic and herby at the same time, aroma of saffron was the star. Rice cooked to perfection. A mix of seasonal Vegetables enhanced the dish (Tomato/zucchini/bell pepper) perfect for Vegetarian. Gnocchi ai 4 Formaggio - Texture was fantastic. Gnocchi made well. Home style. Loved the pairing of 4 cheeses. Served with Bread. Cannelloni ai Funghi - this is all about mushrooms. Nice thin layer stuffed with wild mushroom a touch of truffle baked perfectly. Simple yet classy.

Caponata Siciliana - Tangy/Balance perfect. In short Sweet and sour. Classic dish made home in Italy. It's all about eggplant/celery (distinct flavour) Capers and exotic vegetables. Loved the sauce.

Penne Pasticciate -wow. My partner just came from Milan, he told me this is exactly how they make it in Italy. Basically it's Penne Al Dente with Lamb ragout a bit of pesto and fresh cream (rich) bold in flavours. Texture was amazing. Must try if this is on the regular menu.

POLPETTE - can come for this anytime. Its chef's signature dish. Minced Chicken with Italian seasoning at the same time aromatic. This is made in shape of Dumplings and served in homemade style tomato sauce (tangy and a bit spicy) Balance was amazing. Do try.

Gorgonzola/Fontina and Parmigiano - just a slice/ cube each - change of taste. Coming to Desserts - Salame Di Cioccolato /...

Searching for good ,authentic, organic ,italian food in mumbai ? Then i must say your search will end with Romanos. This is a Classy rustic look restaurant located on ground level of J W Marriot Sahar Anhderi with wooden tables, huge lamps on top of table which gives a feel of date dinner. It has an open style kitchen.Sitting is divided in 3 sections.pure dine-in section, bar section with food and a private dinner section who are looking for privacy. .

Once seated be prepared to be treated with exemplary service.A special thanks to Ashuli - manager in charge of this restaurant who ensures that she and her staff provides best of services to diners at Romanos. Its exceptional talent like Ashuli and Chef Roberto who make these 5 star restaurants a notch above the other good fine dine restaurants ..CHEF Roberto also looks after the food menu for SHAADI BY MARRIOT..

Coming to variety of CHEF ROBERTO'S signature vegan dishes i tried here

Basil Martini -Simply soothing & refreshing .

Burrata with pesto and baby tomatoes. - burrata tasting experience is heavenly..With fork, just cut into the buffalo cheese exterior and wait for that burst of pleasure when creamy layer of cheese goes in your mouth. Fresh pesto is used to balance out the cheesy flavours, .To enjoy it fully please ensure a good amount of the pesto and baby tomatoes go with every bite of your Buratta..I LOVED IT. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Piadina AL Forno -ROMAGNA grilled flat bread served with toppings of pesto, zucchini, rocket.I musy say every ingredient used is very healthy, organic and gives a very homely feeling .YUMMY
