My dad kept saying that it's a nice place so we went here for lunch.
Ambience is good, you will forget that you are surrounded by office buildings.
AC was not working properly, we had just walked in from Bombay Hospital, maybe 40 paces at 13:00 hrs so it wasn't that hot either ..
Service is SLOW, I mean the menu card came in what felt like 10 minutes after we were seated and at that point we were the only ones there . They took 20 minutes after that just to serve fresh lime juice.
Since their tandoor was offline that day, we ordered starter and fried rice .
Now this might be because I regularly get food from Khau gully, but 2 serving (read 1 Tablespoon) of rice per person is not enough!! Needless to say I was not impressed with the quantity of food served for the price billed! (₹300 for a veg fried rice) we ended up ordering 2 plates for 4 people and we still didn't get our stomach's full. Moreover the schichuan sauce wasn't spicy at all!
For a comparison: any joint at khau gully will charge ₹100/- on average for a full fried rice and 2 of us share it at work, it's quite filling too.
If you decide to go here, stick to North Indian food, and don't...

It was very convenient earlier when the restaurant was situated just outside the western side exit of Churchgate station from where the platforms start. Like one can just grab a bite and within few minutes you would be inside the train. Now the place is occupied by Burgerking which attracts a lot of customers, but kinda not as tasty as the food served by Satkar restaurant.
The current Satkar restaurant is located in Dalamal Chambers, not much far away from Churchgate station (north eastern exit, via subway), but still not easily visible. It is near to SNDT Women's university, Income Tax Office, Khau galli which attracts the most crowd. It is fully AC now and mostly upper middle class and rich people visit here. Food is slightly priced on the higher side. The Masala Dosa is something for which one must visit here atleast once. It is just delicious. Even the Mysore Masala Dosa is tasty. They have maintained the taste over the years (I used to visit since 2003 as a child with my father). The ambience is pleasing and staff is very co-operative....
