They have also provided assorted butters namely herb butter and paprika butter. The perfect way to start the meal. And few more new healthy additions, everything prepared in-house..
Smoke House Deli (SHD) had comes with there own signature white and red wine.
SHD house Red wine is blend of cabarnet Sauvignon, Saungiovese and muller. The best part of it, at the end of the sip you will found smokiness as wine kept in oak cask wood for some time. It's a light bodied easy go red wine. This wine will go well with red meat.

Read moreHaving visited Smoke House Deli, Phoenix, Lower Parel quite a few times over the last year, I think I can write about the place, especially after yesterday's memorable experience. Being a Saturday, the place was quite crowded and the staff was quite helpful in accommodating our group of six.
Our food affair started with a bottle of Myra Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Myra Vineyards who have recently launched their premium range of wines (Reserve). The wine opens up to currant flavors with distinct spicy tones and has a hint of oak like effect from its barrel. As is expected from a premium wine, the tannins have nicely weathered down thus giving the perfect smoothness to the wine. I am yet to try Myra Reserve Shiraz but Cabernet Sauvignon is now already in my list of special wines. Special thanks to our server @ Smoke House Deli for introducing us to this dark bottled temptress.
Somewhere on the table were a couple of virgin glasses holding Blueberry smoothie and Plum smoothie. I heard appreciation for the Plum cousin but the Blueberry sister had to take a lot of flak.
The earthy Sautéed Mushrooms were delicious and an instant hit among sides. Grilled Vegetables with Pesto has almost zero chances of going wrong. The batter fried Aubergine with Mozzarella was good though I was expecting more of a Roulade. So was a bit disappointed there. Having said that, the others at the table did like it.
In the main course, the safest bet being Fusilli with chicken in Pesto cream sauce which was done well. Then came the Wild Mushroom Risotto with a dash of white wine which was heavenly. And it went perfectly with the glass of red. Chilli crusted John Dory with Lemon and Thyme was brilliant. It didn't take time for it to disappear from our table. wild Mushroom and Artichoke Crepe Gratin was awesome with it's layered goodness and cheesy richness.
And then came the part for which we have food in first place. Of course Desserts - Flourless Chocolate Fudge was just what I was hoping for - soft and dark that stays close to its bittersweet chocolaty soul. But the revelation was the Bitter Chocolate with Orange Ganache Torte. Bitter chocolate with fresh citric tones of orange… How can someone ever fail to fall in love with that? I would love to see Smoke House Deli coming up with combinations of dark chocolate and alcohol on their dessert menu as there are no options offering that combination other than Tiramisu on their...
Read moreSmoke House Deli has been a well known name for quite a while now, but somehow had escaped my radar, until last night, when I met up with a group of friends for dinner. Being a Friday night I had anticipated a lot of rush so booked a table in advance and that turned out to be a good call, as none of the tables were free when we got there. The decor is pleasing to the eye, seats are reasonably comfy, though the AC could've been a bit stronger, but maybe that's just me. We started off with their offer on Bacardi and Antiquity, though they have offers on sangria, LIIT, wine as well. For appetizers we ordered the Grilled Chermoula Rubbed Chicken Skewers, while the vegetarians in our group had the Curried Cottage Cheese Skewers, and for a change I liked the vegetarian variant more, thanks to its delicious sauce. Our third and final appetizer was the Slow Roasted Plum Tomato with Basil Soup, which was the right amount of tangy, the way I like it. Being a group of 6 people, our focus was on the mains. First up we had Spaghetti in Spicy Arrabbiata and Fusili in Cheesy Alfredo. Both were very good, for me the spaghetti was the winner between the two. Up next was Peri Peri Rubbed Grilled Chicken, a very impressive dish, not only was the chicken great but also the accompanying rice. This was followed by the Peppercorn Crusted Steak, cooked medium-rare, which was quite decent, not too chewy. The last for the mains was Chilli Crusted John Dory, and that was the highlight of our meal. It was so good we ordered it twice! The fish, john dory, was brilliant, and I enjoyed the accompanying risotto as well, inspite of not being much of a risotto person. We rounded off the meal with New York Cheesecake for dessert. It was standard fare, tasty as usually cheesecakes are. So to sum up then, excellent food, plenty of variety, very courteous and well informed staff, and though by no means easy on the pocket, I strongly recommend Smoke House Deli, a restaurant I'll be visiting...
