STRICTLY DO NOT WASTE MONEY. We have long wanted to visit here and experience some decent buffet. And finally, we reached here. Pleasant atmosphere moment you enter. Calm and quiet, something we wanted, away from the noise. First we did have a look at the buffet options, EXTREMELY LIMITED. More of vegetarian options and barely any options n nonveg. To name it, 1 single starter in chicken (with bones). To start with, the soup was nice (Tomato & Chicken coriander lemon soup). We then straight hit the starters - no variety at all. Fried Chicken (which was cold and a bit chewy. Was not tender at all.) Fried assorted veggies - very oily, although taste was okayish. Veg pasta was ok too and fruit salad, which was a bit watery - TIP: the fruits along with salad items could have cut into bigger pieces, so that it does not leave its water. As simple as fried small papad item was hard and chewy. The green chutney was too watery with barely any salt and it did not taste good. To our horror, a simple dish like DahiWada smelled foul. That's when we decided to complain about our disappointment. *The executive informed us since the manager isn't available today, will have the chef attend in a few minutes. When he arrived, we explained how the food isn't tasting good and its a waste of money spending on food which is chewy and smelly. The chef started to explain the Dahi Wada which is fermented and hence the smell. This is a message to the Chef here at Ibis - VileParle - Sir with all due respect to your experience whatsoever, we women can cook much better Dahi Wada's along with it smelling fresh and yumm. Rest, you know your job better, however individually speaking, either you need some cooking training or the food is being re-used and kept. Kindly understand, that people come to eat fresh and tasty food. I will personally take the effort to make some yummy dahi wadas and bring it to you, as Chef Aniket got offended. I read the reviews of others and certainly, we aren't the first ones to state our disappointment. Isn't this enough for you to bring in the change? PEOPLE DONT PAY FOR SUCH PATHETIC FOOD. WE OPTED NOT TO PAY. PAID FOR ALCHOHOL WHICH WE HAD.
Love Food. Love good Mood - This is Spice it all about. Situated at Hotel Ibis Santacruz, a nice vibrant place with a good feel and ambiance. All new menus curated. Being a 4 star Property the prices for 2 approx would be around 1200/+ which is Real VFM. Had a chance to visit this place last week and here is what we had -
Skipped the Soup, Opted for Cafe (Quick Bites) along with my Beer. MASKA BUN, all time favourite had a bit of a twist. Hot that spicy hit of the crunchy Bhujia. Overall the Bun was soft with a generous portion of butter. Lovely sheen and tasted good.
Bullet Chilli chicken - semi dry with scallions. Diced pieces of chicken with bell pepper / onions tossed in soy/garlic sauce. Looked nice. Bold flavours. Gave that spicy touch. Overall good.
This place is known for its MOMOS and presented in a Tiffin box - 3 each (2 layer Tiffin) with 3 dips. PAN FRIED CHICKEN MOMOS - could have been better. Maybe a tad. Minced chicken with spices. Had a nice texture though. Chef, maybe less stuffing and this can be batter (just a suggestion)
Chur Chur Paratha. This is so Delhi. Crunchy Paratha with different types of filling. Here the chef has used Aloo Pyaaz/Gobi and methi matter. Just a suggestion as it gets a bit messy when all the 3 are served together. Served with Dal Makhani was yum (lovely texture) and Raita. Anytime for Dal Makhani. This is comfort food.
Phulka Soft Tacos with peri peri soya - again a good spicy tangy dish presented well. Veg consisted of Chilli Kidney beans Minced soya (had a good texture) Yellow cheddar (sharpness) and vegetables. Overall a nice dish.
Do try the Super meals (meal by itself) priced at 429/+ Consisted on Dal fry, Steamed rice condiments like Crushed Papad/Raita/Cilantro/Aachar/Lemon/Chilli and carrot pickle. Presented in Tiffin.
Dessert - Rasmalai Panna cotta (Missed the Ras malai touch) set well, could have been better, however the molten chocolate with vanilla Ice cream was good baked well.
Overall - This place has a lot of potential if marketed well. USP = Price. Ambiance is good. Comfort food. Will be back for sure, till...
Read moreCalled for a mesmerising parcel from Spice it and I must say I was floored. I wasn’t expecting much as I Generally dont order food easily from any new places but I’m glad I took this risk. Cos the food surely didn’t let us down.
The packing was neat and clean. Nice eco friendly boxes with micro wave proof ability so re- heating the food was easier. We called for a humungous variety and overall everything was absolutely delicious.
Pizza. It was a 9 inch heaven of Goodness with exotic veg toppings and cheese. The pizza sauce was a bit less so that made it a bit dry. Could be rectified next time.
Chur chur paratha. We chose the filling of gobi and pyaz. Was very nice. Liked the idea of bite sized pieces. Made it easier to eat. This came with black dal, onions and raita. Perfect combo meal.
Fried rice with vegetables in hot basil sauce. This was the best part of the meal. Fantastic flavours. I would love to call for this again. It was just too perfect for words.
Spice it veg burger. This was fantastic again. A huge burger with mushroom patty. Tasted just perfect for Me.
Subz Tehri. Was satisfying and soul soothing. Warm masala rice with some chilled boondi Raita just made it all so perfect. The Tehri was mildly spiced and the flavour of the birasta was excellent.
Overall a fantastic meal and I would surely recommend it to all to try once. Full marks for completely spill proof and leak proof packaging and also for adding small gestures like salt pepper, sauces, chopsticks and of course the details about the sanitized packing and reheating tips. Very very happy to enjoy this meal to...
