Farzi Cafe is a complete new definition of dining, splendid and ingenious in its food combinations. The artisanal and locavore (local food) movement is a rage all over the world over and that is the main motive of the chefs . A unique take on how to use the most famous/recognizable flavors and ingredients of the Indian cuisine to highlight Western food, and thus bringing it to the next level. We were welcomed with a delicious Mishti doi shots called the amuse-bouche as an appetizer . Read moreFarzi Cafe has always struck chords when it comes to fusion, molecular gastronomy and cooking science. After a memorable experience, almost 7 months ago in my hometown Chandigarh, my taste buds were craving for some more Fusion foods and decided to visit Farzi CP for my friends birthday celebration.
Located on the first floor, this place was spacious and had informal seating with leather sofas, couch and chair seating all across. Cane lanterns hang around the ceiling with dim lighting across adding some oomph to the entire Ambience.
Trying to explore something new that I haven't tried last time, we ordered some Munch bites, cocktails, Quick meals and A delightful desert.
Mini Raj kachori with tamarind foam was a surprising twist to our Regular Royal Raj Kachori. Bite sized small kachoris topped with Tamarind foam and served alongside with okra crisps salad was a delightful starter that was crisp, light and tangy to taste.
In the Drinks, I tried their Farzi Idea, which was served as the drink name suggest in a Bulb bottle. This Vodka based cocktail was tangy and frothy and went along with my starters.
We also ordered Chicken quesadillas, which were again not the regular quesadillas we get around. But an Indian Variant in which Malabar Parantha was the crispy base with chicken filling and mild cheese. It was Quite filling and tasty.
With not much appetite left after delicious starters, we preferred to try something light and quick meal that we can relish, still stay light. I am a big fan of Kerala food and when I spotted Chicken with ghee roast Appams, my appetite surged and it was superbly done. Light, crispy and moist centered Appams served with Authentic Chicken ghee roast on top was a finger licking good meal on it's own. A must try here.
Although had no space leftover for any more meal, we still couldn't let go to try their Popular desert, Mud pile. Crumble cake mix that actually looked like dirt pile having many elements mixed along. It had chocolate crumble, fudge, brownie, walnuts, and served with more chocolate sauce to drizzle on the top. A spade to mix the pile made it looked so real. It was delicious.
A Beautiful lunch that makes me crave for more Farzi treats. Planning to go to their Aerocity outlet soon. Looking forward for more fusion...
Read moreMolecular gastronomy at it's best is what can define Farzi cafe. Indian and international preparations presented like an art.Farzi c.p is located in inner circle E block, easy to locate and have ample parking space providing an easy access.Located at spacious first floor, the place has a cosy seating. The staff ensures a quick placement and makes you comfortable to start with. The menu is more of a collection of quirkiness with some dishes like butter chicken bao,dal chawal arancini and so on. The server suggested Farzi idea...which was a frothy vodka based drink and wasn't much sweet. It was very refreshing. The starters were Dal chawal arancini and kachori mini Raj kachori. Dal chawal arancini was made to perfection as one can taste daal and chawal along with tomato onion relish and crispy papad think folded along with achari mayo. Raj kachori was feather light with foam based chutney and lady finger salad.Finished in seconds. Next was palak paneer and chicken quesadillas which were served in malabari paranthas. My carnivore sensations were satisfied with Lahori chicken with tempered .The live BBQ effect gave it a perfect glaze and heat. Main course was chicken sukha with butter roast appam and mutter paneer masala with butter roast appam for vegetarian counter part. The sukha chicken had a hint of flavors but spices were not overpowering. The aroma of Desi ghee was making every bite tasteful. It was one of the best tasting chicken sukha. The ending was more than perfect with the dessert called "dirt pile" It looked like a pile of dirt which was a mix of chocolate crumble, fudge and brownie crumble and comes with a hearty scoop of vanilla ice cream. The melted hot chocolate is poured over this in a pot shaped mud bowl with a shovel shaped spoon. The taste was great... gooey, the fudge had a hint of fresh black pepper and walnuts. The staff is courteous and prompt. The floor managers, servers and helpers are ever smiling and reach you time to time to ensure that you are having a great time. The props and accessories matches the concept.Everything is so much thought and taken care of.This place was really a gastronomical delight and looking forward to try all the menu dishes...
