Up until a decade ago, the ageing founder of the brand could be found in a small hole-in-the-wall in the middle lane of Khan Market, which itself was a much-more modest market than its present avatar. Today, the brand has spread to other outlets but retains something of its original essence. Not much here for vegetarians, it is true, but for a trip down memory lane, few snacks beat hot, spicy kababs in a roomali roti, with plenty of onion rings and mint sauce in yoghurt to douse the fire.

With the Indian palette getting more experimental, Khan Chacha too has spread its wings and presents an expansive menu today, at the numerous branches to reach out to more. I recently dined at Khan Chacha Shop in Connaught Place, and for 326₹, I was offered a delightful meal package that included 1 veg roll, 1 sweet, and 1 drink option from their menu. In this case, I chose the soya tikka roll with phirni for dessert, accompanied by a Fanta.

The roll, made with rumali roti and filled with soya chaap in tikka style, was a flavorful treat. It came served with a mint chutney and onions, adding to the overall taste experience. Paired with a cold drink, it felt like a satisfying combination. The phirni sweet was a true highlight, boasting a delicious and creamy texture that made it a perfect dessert choice.

Very so so rolls & highly over priced and the taste is very average.. I personally didn't like the non veg so much and secondly the name was just a hike. Till the time I had not tasted the food I thought they are serving very extraordinary food but it was shere flop show after tasting the food. The mutton was so hard and rubbery that I just hated it, second attempt tried chicken roll but that was hard and wasn't that tasty. So my net conclusion was that the name just a hike and nothing that special. Honestly I would have found the roadside cart rolls more appealing and tasty. And ice ing is that they are more affordable. The store of Khan chacha was also not that impressive at all. I think they really need to re Do the ambience and work upon there taste.
