Restaurant Review: Maihang, Assam Bhawan

I recently visited Maihang at Assam Bhawan, a restaurant known for serving authentic Assamese cuisine. It’s always a pleasure to find a place that offers traditional dishes, especially outside Assam. However, my experience left much to be desired.

While the concept of showcasing Assamese food is commendable, the execution fell flat. The service was incredibly slow and lacked basic courtesy. There was no effort from the staff to communicate or ensure that we were comfortable. They didn’t ask for feedback or check if we needed anything, which made the whole dining experience frustrating.

As for the food, though it carried the essence of Assamese flavors, it wasn’t enough to make up for the lack of attention to service. It’s clear that both the quality of food and the overall service need an upgrade to meet expectations.

Maihang has the potential to become a standout spot for Assamese cuisine, but only if they focus on improving customer service and delivering a smoother dining experience. Until then, it’s hard...

Overall experience was just okay.. Me and my friend went there as we have been desperately craving for assamese thali.. We ordered two veg thalis, a portion of local chicken and another portion of pork. The thali was simple and good, local chicken was just fine but pork was not at all good (my friend didn't like it at all). The most disappointing part was the service, initially there was only one waiter so we didn't get a clean table, stood for good 15 mins and had to remind them to get it one cleaned several times. Later on another guy came to serve us, got the table cleaned and it was fine.

Not too sure if I am going to visit this place again unless I don't find another better place to fulfill my craving for...

Extremely unhygienic and dirty place. Food was disgusting. I went there because i got confused with the reviews of assam house and assumed that this place would be good. However their service was beyond pathetic. The restrooms were extremely dirty and were below average washrooms- in fact public toilets of government bus stands in south india would surpass them at any given point of time. Coming to food- On days when I do not feel like cooking, I cook way better food than this place. I am appalled at the fact that I travelled so far beating the heat and Delhi traffic only to get this disappointing experience. Total waste of my time,...
