I recently had the pleasure of dining at Prabhu Chaat Bhandar, and I must say it was an incredibly delightful experience. Located in the heart of the city, this food joint is a haven for chaat lovers. Here's my review based on my visit:
Ambience: Prabhu Chaat Bhandar has a casual and laid-back atmosphere. The seating arrangements are simple but comfortable. It's a small establishment with a vibrant and colorful decor that adds to the overall charm.
Menu: The menu at Prabhu Chaat Bhandar is dedicated to a variety of chaat items, and they excel in this area. From the classic pani puri and bhel puri to the mouthwatering dahi puri and sev puri, every chaat dish I tried was bursting with flavor. The menu also offers a few additional snacks and beverages, providing a decent variety for different preferences.
Taste: The taste of the chaat at Prabhu Chaat Bhandar is simply outstanding. The flavors are authentic, and each dish is prepared with fresh ingredients. Prabhu chaat bhandar is very popular. But believe me it just makes a okay type chaat. Chaat is not fantastic. Quality is bit low. Still not so bad.
I do not know if it was a one off bad day. The dahi paapri chaat was terrible. They ran out of raw material and should have refused to take orders. I also felt it was unhygienic, poor handling of food material that was all kept open. However, I did not fall ill, so that is a plus.
On our maiden trip to Delhi, my wife was eagerly looking forward to eat here, after seeing it’s review on some television show. While the chaat is not too bad, it was not great either. Reasonably priced with decent portion size. The place was too crowded & a little unhygienic. Huge gol gappas, loved Dahi Bhalla & papdi chaat. Kulfi falooda was sold out.
I visited there with a lot of hopes but i got disappointed after visiting there. Not even a single dish is tasty there, i tried tikki, bhalla papdi and aloo fried nothing was good.
This one of the best places in New Delhi to have street food. Aloo Chaat and Tikki Chaat is really delicious. But there is one caution, try this street food only if your stomach can take it. It is spicy and can cause heartburn.

Had the famous aloo tikki chaat at Prabhu chaat Bhandar. It's close to the UPSC building, and certainly lived up to its name. As for hygiene, I'm not very sure but I did NOT fall sick - so I guess it's alright! Come here for roadside food.
This is my childhood favourite, which has lost its old glory due to various reasons. I visited with my friends, who wanted to have something spicy on a...
Read moreChaat is all about an intimate relationship between the chaat maker (chaatwala) and the chaat eater (chatora). But you convert it in business, then the relation is reduced to a seller buyer one. MAKING CHAAT IS AN EMOTION WHICH IS SERVED TO THE CHATORA. The taste of chat thus depends on the emotion with which it is served. Prabhu ji used to make chat with passion and we always ate it with similar passion. It was TASTE. But with time, he has relegated himself to supervising cash collection counter. The Chaatwala has become a businessman. The chaat is now served by hired labour who make the pattas (plates of chaat) mechanically. No love, no emotion. They are not to be blamed. They are just doing their job for a livelihood. Result, Taste is gone, emotion is gone, love is gone. They still serve the same alu tikki, alu masala, bhalla paprika, collapse BUT without a soul. I am sad. The Chaatwala Chatora relation, emotion is GONE. A tradition of 50 years is lost. Can someone explain this to the owner. Searching for another place in Delhi who makes chaat not for making money, but to serve and spread love (taste is a natural byproduct). Can't go to Kashi Chaat at Gowdolia, Banaras daily which is pure love and...
