I have been a regular customer of Theobroma's since 10 years but mostly of Bombay outlets. This is the first time I visited the D block Connaught Place Outlet and the experience and the behaviour of the staff was just appalling. We bought 6 different brownies and 2 chocolate opium pastries - they were picking up the brownies with their hand instead of using tongs or a proper cake server. The staff member Rohit got really irritated with us for demanding these minimum food handling standards. We paid in cash for a bill of Rs 903 and asked for a change of Rs 2000 note; to this, Rohit was again agitated about not having the change and that's when the manager - Yogesh got the change from outside. However, once informed about the poor handling of food, Yogesh didn't seem too bothered by it. When we asked all the 3 staff members how long the outlet has been around, all of them said they were new or it was their first day and had no idea. The staff was also not willing to act quickly when we requested them to unlock the upstairs washroom and were busy loudly quarreling amongst themselves upstairs in the back room. This quaint little patisserie/bakery, will leave your taste-buds wanting for more. Theobroma has become a brand that every dessert lover will relate to. The Chocolate Overload Brownies are to die for. With a humble filling of melted chocolate, and an extra soft batter, this brownie is probably the best brownie one can have. They pack brownies in boxes of 4, 6, 9 & 12. So get ready to shell out some good money here, because you will not stick to one. The brownies come in same sizes, but in different variants. Like the Chocolate Oreo Brownies, Red Velvet Brownie, Chocolate Chip, Millionaire Brownie, the classic Walnut Brownie and Cookie Brownie. Apart from me haggling about brownies, there are tonnes of other stuffs available, as they have converted themselves into a cafe of sorts.
