If you are a person who values your self-respect, be careful and think twice before choosing this restaurant!!! I am not a regular reviewer, and writing this one only because an entire family's otherwise "would-have-been-happily-concluded" outing was completely spoiled by the extremely arrogant and disrespectful attitude and service from this restaurant's team. My partner and I have been in Pondicherry for several years, and we used to visit this restaurant occasionally. On all the previous occasions, only we two were there. Most of those visits were under the circumstances of craving for Kerala food and proximity of this restaurant to our that-time's place-of-visit (mostly Rock Beach). On many of those occasions, an elderly service person in this restaurant used to show a very arrogant attitude and make faces at us. Also, the lady at the cash counter used to show a mocking attitude. Never knew what the reason for all these was, and never used to mind it, as the preference was only for something to eat at that time and not their attitude. Additionally, since both of us are engaged in social activism, a frequent evaluation of the social structure, various professionals' responses and attitude to people of various classes and creed, and judgmental approach of different sectors to their fellow human beings have made us resistant and tolerant to almost all kinds of antipathetic and unaltruistic behaviours. But today's experience was beyond any limits and unbearable since my family, who came for a Pondicherry expedition from Kerala, was also there with two of us, and the entire party's good time was absolutely spoiled. I myself recommend this restaurant (the decision which I had to regret afterwards after seeing my poor family's response to the unfair treatment we received at this restaurant) since we were in Rock beach at a late evening and the family was not that used to non-Kerala food, thinking that whatever was this restaurant people's attitude during our previous visits, this time they may show at least some manners since an entire family that included elderly people as well as a toddler was there with us. We ordered the main course first. Then, as some of us were really thirsty, I asked the service person (the same elderly man mentioned above) for the options for juices. He pointed towards a menu lying on the table, and while I was going through it and asking my family members for their preferences for juices, I told this service person very politely, "chetta, food tharunnathinu munp juice tharumo" ("Could you please bring the juice before serving the food). The response and attitude from this person was very rude, arrogant and irresponsible. He started blabbering as if I got paid for eating from his restaurant, and I, as well as my entire group, were completely surprised, shocked and flabbergasted at this man's response. Still, I don't even know why that person was behaving like that. After paying the bill, my partner conveyed this rude behaviour to the lady at the counter, and more shocking, that lady simply shook her head at my partner mockingly!!! Also, while we were leaving, that lady was staring at my entire family as if we did something wrong!!! In a tourism destination like Pondicherry, how a firm can treat the customers in this kind of a negative manner and unconcern is a matter to be thought about, especially from the viewpoint of a common middle-class man. Maybe the influx of customers, maybe the class judgment of self-centered business people or maybe the ignorance about the changing surroundings, who knows, what makes some people so inhumane... Anyways, learnt a lesson and will never prefer or suggest this restaurant to anyone in the future. Average quality food and hurt to self-respect at its peak can teach you a lesson, my dear...

Last night, we went to Ente Nadu for dinner, but it turned out to be the last time we ever will. Halfway through my egg roast, I spotted a young cockroach in the dish. When I pointed it out to one of the staff members, he simply walked out of the room without saying a word. Puzzled by the lack of reaction, my partner went to check what's happening, An older man then came in & started examining the insect muttering to it as if he were having a private conversation.When I expressed how disgusted I was, he casually offered to get me a new dish, as though replacing contaminated food was an acceptable solution. Frustrated, we walked out, only to find the owner seated at the tanke, watching us with indifference. Her first words? A dismissive, "This has never happened before." No apology, no sense of urgency—just an entire staff of five or six people lingering around, unfazed, as if a cockroach in someone’s dinner was nothing out of the ordinary.
We washed our hands and returned, still shocked by their utter lack of concern. I told the owner how disappointed I was—not just by the cockroach, but by their absolute indifference. Not a single person apologized. Not one of them seemed angry or concerned that this had happened. The only people visibly disturbed were us.
This is the end of Ente Nadu for us. We will never go back.
Sadly, I don’t think there are any hygienic Mallu restaurants left in Pondicherry, so for now, I’ll just forget about this...

From the moment we walked in, the service was subpar. Our server seemed completely disinterested in attending to our needs, and it took an inordinate amount of time to receive our menus and place our orders.
However, the worst part of our experience was the extremely rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff. When we politely brought to their attention that one of our orders was incorrect, we were met with a dismissive and condescending attitude.
The server's tone was completely unacceptable, and it made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. As customers, we expect a certain level of courtesy and respect, which was sadly lacking during our visit.
Given the poor service and unacceptable behavior of the staff, we will not be returning to your restaurant. We will also be sharing our negative experience with friends, family, and online review platforms to ensure that others are aware of the substandard service they can expect.
