A nice little shop near the De bussy street which gets quite busy during the evenings because of its famous bhajjis/bondas and paati(grandmother).
They sell a few varieties of non-veg fritters, mostly chicken, prawn, fish and crab bhajjis. We tried the prawn and chicken bhajji. Both were good, the batter was light and crispy, the spice was on point. I expected the prawn bajji to be one tiger prawn deep fried in batter, but they instead use smaller prawns that go together in one serving.
The chicken was tender and juicy, but just that the coating was mostly coming off the meat instead of sticking to it. They serve alongside some Mayo and a salad that is basically a mix of grated cabbage, capsicum and some onions.
The place gets crowded sometimes and paati is constantly busy making and serving as many bhajjis as possible, to cater to the crowd. The service is good, the hygiene could be better. For 2 pieces each of prawn and chicken bhajjis they charged 110rs which I...
Read moreWe visited this place on a Sunday eve and the place was tightly packed with tourists. It is a roadside shop with a old woman(பாட்டி) cooking fishes, shrimps and chicken. They had fish bajji which was good but had a raw taste from inside, their shrimp bajji is my personal favorite of their place, their chicken bonda was average and their pepper chicken(leg piece covered with their batter) was average too. The dishes get served with sides of onion and cabbage and mayo. My views : Most of the visitors come here due to the hype created by the youtubers and vloggers and the food here is not upto the hype created! Even your local roadside chicken bajji shop anna will serve you better bondas with cheaper price! So you can try here if you are in the area and craving for some hot crispers.
Pricing : Fish bajji(1pc) - RS.70 Prawn bajji(1pc) - RS.30 Chicken bonda(1pc) - RS.50 Pepper...
Read moreThe taste of the Meen and Prawn Bajji was good and it didn’t upset my stomach, which is a big plus. High demand for the food. Could see many people visiting the place and enjoying Paati's food. However, the overall experience could be better. There’s no parking, and you have to stand outside to eat with constant fear of dust falling on the food. The bajjis were not kept inside a glass box, though they moved quickly because of high demand.
The outside atmosphere was quite clumsy and not very clean, which takes away from the experience. With better hygiene, seating, and cleanliness, this place could be much...
