The place is like a fish market and the staff are not competent enough to manage the crowd. I had to wonder why so many people including myself ate and came out without saying a word about the quality of the food. Even a street side Vendor wouldn't serve such crap food. Cutlery- we had to ask after food was served. No tissue or water on the table and we asked for it and was served after ten minutes. The chicken wings looked so small and tasted dry. Fish was overcooked and prawns scorched. If this is the case for nonveg ..the veg items were even more pathetic. The biryani was just okay and the noodles were spoilt and was leaving threads. Their mayonnaise is another story...very sweet and watery ..never seen or tasted mayo like that in my whole life. When finally we thought of trying the desserts ..the cake texture was horrible ....funnily enough a staff came and asked us if the food was good ....even before we could answer he asked us to give excellent and positive reviews and when we gave a smile he jokingly said not to give a review if it was going to be negative. Sad state of affairs..for such a price we didn't need a barbeque nation get together ..we would have been better off elsewhere with 1/4th of that price .. please people I have nothing against BBQ Nation and I am not their rival ..... if BBQ nation Pondicherry doesn't wake up and look at the quality being served then it's not worth your money. My rating would be -50 if there was an option. We hardly ate anything and walked out paying 8000 for nothing 😒 I would not recommend any of the items we...
Read moreI visited here for lunch on Sunday and dinner on Monday with my family. I'm visiting here after 4 years so it was almost a different atmosphere here. We had different experiences with both food and service. Both times the tables were almost full so I don't think that should make any difference. Sunday Lunch Experience: The service was really good even though it was slow and the staff were less. We got everything that we requested on our table. Everything tasted good not like before but still good. The buffet items were okay. The only issue was kulfi. It tasted really bad, almost like it was bad. But overall it was a good lunch. Monday Dinner Experience: The service was very terrible. Most of the dishes were cold like freezing cold. We got raw fish and the coals weren't hot enough so we can say it will cook the fish. They never really bothered to check on us. We had to call them and ask for things we needed. I got super frustrated and complained to the manager. They gave us freshly 2 skewers of cooked fish. That's it. I'm not asking you to give us free food but better service and food. They never really decided to change the service or give the items we asked to refill. All they said was they didn't have enough staff. Maybe they have better staff on Sunday. I don't know. If you have a better place to go then...
Read moreIn any other city, this would have been a 4 star review. The hospitality once you enter the doors is impeccable to the point of trying too hard to please. But the service before you reach the place is annoying enough to put you off dinner. You are allowed to choose between two slots, one which starts as early as 6. 45 p.m ( No one should be forced to dine that early ,unless you are in the stage of not having grown your first set of teeth or at the point where you've lost your last set) After reminding-almost admonishing you to be in time for dinner, they will continue to call, text and bug you till you turn up (this despite us doing so before the scheduled time). The food is not exceptional, (except for the delightful kulfi and the mocktails, both of which I had two helpings) but very satisfying and a good choice for the price! But what I heartily despised was the fact that this is easily the most un-Pondyish restaurant in the city. It has no iota of connection to the city. For two hours, if you want to forget you live in Pondicherry, and inhabit one of those sleek, impressive but soulless dining spaces that fill metropolitan cities, this is the best place to go! It truly...
