I recently visited Badshah Pure Veg in Camp, Pune—a place that’s been around for generations and carries that classic charm. The moment you step in, there’s this nostalgic, old-school vibe that hits you. It’s not fancy, but there’s something comforting about its simplicity.
I went with a slightly unconventional combo—Special Club Sandwich, Pav Bhaji, and Mango Falooda. The Special Club Sandwich was a pleasant surprise. Stuffed generously with veggies and cheese, grilled just right, and served hot—it hit the spot. It had that classic Indian-style sandwich flavor I really enjoy, especially with the masala touch.
The Pav Bhaji was more traditional and didn’t disappoint. The bhaji was spicy, buttery, and flavorful, and the pav was fresh and perfectly toasted. It reminded me why simple street-style dishes can be so satisfying when done right.
What really stood out though was the Mango Falooda. Cold, refreshing, and not overly sweet, it was the perfect way to end the meal. The mango flavor actually tasted natural, and the texture with sabja seeds and falooda noodles was just right—definitely something I’d go back for, especially in this heat.
Overall, Badshah Pure Veg is a solid spot for a filling, comforting vegetarian meal in Camp. If you enjoy old-school eateries with no-frills service and dependable food, this one’s worth...

So on a Sunday, we decided to have a light meal and top it up with the Rose Falooda. And which better place to go than Badshah. Incidentally this Badshah is a branch of the famous Badshah of Mumbai. And the taste is the same. So we went to the Kings restaurant (as this is non veg) which is on the 1st floor. This claims to be a Persian restaurant and we tried the Parsi chicken dhansak with kebabs. Delicious and wee bit spicy for me. The portion is sufficient for 2 persons. Then we ordered one Royal Falooda which came in tall glass and one Badshahi which came in a bowl. Loved the Badshahi as its got dry fruits and a slab of vanilla ice cream . Falooda is a cold drink with milk and Takmari ..which are very cooling. There is a dollop of ice cream added mostly vanilla as it blends well with the Rose syrup. The service is quick and the place is clean. There are coolers to...
Read moreHorrible experience. Would haven't even rated this place a 1. Would definitely complain to the food safety dept. No hygiene and unhealthy rotten food is served here. They served stale sambar and upon confronting they were rude and arrogant enough to admit that sambar is made once in the morning and cannot be cooked again. And, we visited this restaurant at 7 in the evening. When complained about the pungent smell and stale taste of the sambar, they didn't admit and said it was because of the less salt. And the waiter served another bowl of stale sambar pretending that they have cooked new sambar again. Moreover they charged money for the stale sambar and upon confrontation the cashier said you tasted it. Who would pay money for stale food served in a restaurant that you didn't even consume and rejected after tasting? Also now I am suffering from food poisoning and vomiting after all the nuisance that happened...
