Sarangi Family Restaurant & Bar – Our Timeless Hangout Since Years

Recently, I visited Sarangi Family Restaurant & Bar, and like always, it was a great experience. This place has become a kind of tradition for me and my friends — whenever we meet, we end up having food at Sarangi. It’s not just a restaurant for us, it’s an emotion built over time.

Established in 1987, Sarangi has maintained its charm, taste, and hospitality even after all these years. The ambiance is simple and spacious, with a classic bar section and comfortable family dining area. Whether you’re with friends or family, it offers a good atmosphere to enjoy a relaxed meal.

The food, as expected, was flavorful and fresh. From chicken handi, butter naan, veg crispy to Chinese starters, everything we ordered came hot and tasty. The tandoori dishes and Indian gravies are their specialty — consistent in taste and quantity. The bar section is well-stocked and the service is quick, making it a great combo for weekend catchups.

The staff was polite, and the hygiene and cleanliness were well maintained. The pricing is reasonable for the quality and portion they serve.

The looks and interior of this joint sums up its reputation, but there are scope for improvement.

The fountain seem to be barely working and while it stands in the middle of the restobar it is creating a shabby look. The waiters mostly talk to each other rather than attending to the customers. Although I was lucky to get waited by a very thoughtful waiter, I barely noticed that service for the other tables.

There should be a separate section for people who are drinking rather than mixing them with family or simply couples on a date. It feels uncomfortable.

It takes tremendous amount of time for my food to arrive in my table. I found myself snacking on munchies which wasn’t fresh either. This is pathetic.

But I do have compliments for the chef who served great food. The decor and design of the joint is very traditional and it embraces the Indian culture. People do find themselves comfortable in their chairs and table seems to be in a good height as well.

I have few suggestions however. Might as well replace the same old drab Bollywood music with some live music by the local artists. Waiters can have more of hospitable attitude than a leisure one.
