The product quality has gone down. The dahi in a pouch smells of starter chemical, the Patal Poha chivda is tough and non-crispy, the bakarwadis are not crisp, the small samosas are also not properly fried, the dhokla is dry, the basundi is not thick, and every savoury product is too hot. Shockingly enough, they have outsourced the manufacture of several products to other unknown manufacturers, and they use palm oil in quite a few products. Please do check the ingredient list and manufacturer 's name before buying the product. The white dhokla, for example, is made by some obscure entity. The only product I purchase is the Murmure wala chivda( Photographs attached). It is manufactured by the Chitale's themselves. It is light and crispy. Just be careful about the fried green chillies, if you don't like 🔥 taste. And the product would be even better if there were more peanuts in it, along with dale and copra pieces. Please check the given telephone number. Truecaller identifies it as...
Read moreIn the last 35 years that I have been coming to this place during my visit to India, never had a problem until March 2025. The pre-packaged sweet boxes are definitely STALE AND OLD AND HARD. the LADOOS inside are hard and unimaginably dis-tasteful. Pretty much every piece of sweet I purchased seem to be very old although the dates are printed New not sure if they swapped the outside boxes but left the contents alone. Starting with my next trip buyer beware!! I will be opening the boxes and tasting the food before putting it in my suitcase really disappointed with this trip and I wish the store owner would reach out to me to resolve this matter. It is also possible that it was extremely hot, but that is no excuse for a top-tier sweet...
Read moreWent for lunch yesterday. Ordered the speciality of the day Prawns Thecha. No concept of Thecha in it. Simple rawa batter fried, oil was smelling stale. Next the fish thali. Now they served fish in a bucket( only meant for daal). If prawns curry is served in it, i still get it, but for fishes like Bangda etc serving in a deep pail with a round ladle just brings out mashed fish and a bone graveyard. To add on to it, no salt in anything. Adjusting salt as per taste is onething and zero salt is another story. Total disaster of time and money. Absolutely not worth anything. My husband had tisraya masala, was ok without much salt again. To top it all food was not hot at all, looked...
