Masemari The fishing — Restaurant in Pune

Visited today and ordered Surmai thali, clams (tisrya / shimple) thali and boneless crab masala. Food was super tasty. Surmai thali: big (palm size) surmai fry piece, surmai curry with medium size surmai piece (no head, tail), separate bowl for fish curry (no piece) but this was different in taste than surmai curry. Fish was shallow fry. Rice is perfect; every grain is separate which is must to eat rice with fish curry. Solkadhi and tiwal (futi kadhi) was good too. Tisrya thali: Tisrya masala was spicy and yummy. Lot of clams in it. They served bombay duck (bombil fry) with it. 4 pieces deep fried. Rest items were same as surmai thali. Crab boneless masala : best dish on table. Bit spicy but taste was heavenly, mouth watering. No 2 dishes, currys tasted same. Looks like for every type of fish they use different spices. Ambience was okay. Service was excellent. Prices are bit on higher side. Quantity and quality is awesome. Seafood lovers in pune must...

Names and historic value can be misleading, & "Masemari" is the perfect example, went there since I read the reviews above. The Clams was just tossed in the pre cooked common masala, and was raw & chewy , the crab was just boiled & tossed in pre cooked masala if u know what I mean, where the meat does not have any flavor , worse part was , it(Crab) was tossed in mutton masala, huh????? Just goes to show the chef inside is "Gowardhan Ravanse" with a Mera No1 moment , Chapatti was doused in oil, they might have found a cheap source of oil (U.S you might want to consider), but sugeries are not. They seating was cramped up, and the Loo is really compact. The crab masala at "Bamboo House" is far better, cya till I feel...

Masemari Tilak Road, after closure of Shaniwar peth branch long back and alternative to Fish Curry Rice we tried MASEMARI which ruined our Sunday family lunch. Staff was very exhausted and disturbed, Suffocating Dinning area, due to Kitchen eye irritating fumes and smell, Lady Fish fry was good suggestion by captain served crispy and tastes good, Ordered butter garlic squids served has to send back due unbearable salt in it, Crab bhurji was far from taste as chef might have forgotten to add crab meat in bhurji, Promfret and surmai fry was very average. Hotel even failed to serve the chilled water and solkadi, Charges was a bomb as compare to product they served in...
