Rude Lounge — Restaurant in Pune

I had known that the well known Rude from Mumbai had started its chain in Pune. It was on my list from long time and I recently got a chance to visit it! I was really excited even though it was an hour drive from my place.

Below is what we had:

Prawns Martini : Star of the day and best starter I had here was Prawns Martini. Fried pomfret were served in Martini glass and topped with spicy schezwan sauce.

Peppery crush : This drink was grape juice with good punch of crushed pepper. I missed it in first few sips as the pepper had settled down. I stirred it later with curiosity and it worked like a charm.

Pompret tandoori masala : This was one heck of a marinated pomfret cooked to perfection and served on a sizzling pan along with veggies and salad. The marination had seeped right through it and the fish had smokey flavor as it was cooked in tandoor.

fiery chicken strips : These were battered chicken breast fried with egg and corn flakes coating. Though I liked it , I felt it could be better with more herbs and stronger marinade for the chicken. I soon ordered schezwan chutney which balanced out everything.

Virgin Pinacolada

This turned out to be my favourite drink here and I ordered it three times. Perfect amount of pineapple and coconut cream elegantly goes down your throat and all you are left with is a sweet and mild coconut flavour in your mouth.

sizzling brownie: In house brownie with vanilla icecream on top and chocolate sauce poured over the top. Very few things to go wrong here . Loved it!!

Chocotini : I was not that happy with this drink. Thought it had a good taste.I felt it could be a little stronger.

chicken african : Boneless chicken tossed in tangy red sauce with the spices. The flavours were new to me but surely reminded me of green tomatoes

Beer batter prawns : Prawns fried to perfection in mild batter which went good with the dip served. The batter with made out of corn flour and beer and prawns were fried to crisp golden brown.

Chicken tikka masala : Thick and spicy chicken curry with the base of onion tomato with tender and juicy chicken boneless pieces. Loved it and it tasted awesome with garlic naan and rice. I would surely recommend this in main course.

Bottomline : Rude does a good job in mumbai and pune is happy to have Rude right in Viman nagar. Few suprises here and there with the dishes and few signature dishes really make them stand apart from the competitors.

Really good ambience along with rooftop and heartwarming service. Hukka is also available here, even though I did not try it, it would be really good atmosphere set for the ones who do.Really good food and drinks makes me want to...

Rude Lounge is my current favourite! Everything about this place is perfect. The open-air restaurant, lit by shimmering lanterns and twinkling lights and the DJ console gives it a funky look and feel. And the electrifying music lifts up your mood instantly. It very rarely happens that a place has a good ambience and delish food too and Rude Lounge is one such place.

Baked Nachos – I’ve never heard of baked nachos and this was the first time I tried one. Nacho chips loaded with lots of toppings and sauces. Although, I didn’t understand as to why it is baked and what difference it makes, I liked whatever was served to me.

Chicken Crunchy – Excellent! Chicken strips marinated in spices and coated with crumbs and fried until golden brown are killer. The masala used in it is magical. Loved it! #MustTry

Crispy Chicken Paprika – This is similar to chicken crunchy, the only difference here is that this one is topped with melted cheese and topped with chilli flakes and herbs. The cheese also makes a lot of difference. So if you like all things cheesy then this one is for you.

Butter Garlic Prawns – Out of all the items served to me this one was extremely disappointing. The prawns weren’t fresh and thus were chewy.

Chicken Lollipop – These were delicious. I loved this to the core. Worth trying.

Rude Margherita – Classic margherita with a twist. Margherita topped with cheese, chicken and olives was mind blowing. Worth a try.

Alfredo Pasta – The pasta was a little disappointing. The penne wasn’t al dante and lacked bite.

Caramel Custard – Honestly, I’ve had better caramel custards and this one in particular lacked the flavour of caramel.

Sizzling Brownie with Ice Cream -The brownie with ice cream was decent.

PS – I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Team Rude Lounge. I had actually forgotten my hand bag in the parking lot which is open and left for home and later when I realised that my bag is missing, I called the staff and told them about the incident and the immediately looked into the matter and handed over my bag to me. Chill atmosphere, very spacious, great variety of drinks, food is okay, DJ makes you groove. Overall affordable place. Zomato gold is a big plus to have for discounts. Place is located just after Phoenix Market city. Sometimes there is issue of parking on weekends. Even on weekdays there can be parking issues if the place is already for booked for an event by corporate people. So people may be required to park their vehicles outside the restaurant or park inside ground floor parking of phoenix market city. Phoenix market city parking is hardly 10 minutes walking from the place. There is a parking fee charged for every vehicle parked in the phoenix market city parking area which has its entry from east coast area of the mall. The parking fee has a fixed starting price and there is an additional fee for every extra hour kept in the parking which is linearly dependent on the number of hours the vehicle was kept in the parking of phoenix market city. But sometimes dance floor is already booked so you'll have to dance near your own table only. There is enough space available for every table and you can dance near your table also.
