Surve's Pure Non-Veg: A Chicken Thali and Egg Curry Delight Craving a hearty non-vegetarian meal? Look no further than Surve's Pure Non-Veg in Pune! I recently had the pleasure of dining there and was thoroughly impressed by their Chicken Thali and Egg Curry.
The Chicken Thali:
A true celebration of chicken in all its forms! The thali comes with a perfectly spiced chicken fry and Chicken Rassa (chicken curry). The star of the show for me was the Chicken Rassa. It had a rich, complex flavor with just the right amount of spice. It paired beautifully with the fluffy Indrayani rice and the soft chapati or bhakri (flatbread) included in the thali. The portion size is generous, leaving you completely satisfied. The Egg Curry:
A delicious and affordable option for egg lovers. The curry features boiled eggs cooked in a delicious onion-tomato gravy. The gravy was perfectly balanced, offering a hint of sweetness from the tomatoes and a touch of heat from the spices. The egg curry is a great side dish to share or can be enjoyed on its own with rice or roti. Overall Impression:
Surve's Pure Non-Veg is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying non-vegetarian meal. The Chicken Thali offers a great variety of chicken dishes, while the Egg Curry is a comforting and flavorful option. The restaurant has a casual ambiance and friendly service, making it a great choice for a relaxed lunch or dinner.
Here's a quick breakdown:
Chicken Thali: Highly recommended! Generous portion, flavorful curries, and perfectly cooked rice/bread. Egg Curry: A delicious and affordable option, perfect as a side or on its own. Ambiance: Casual and relaxed. Service: Friendly and efficient. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Surve's Pure Non-Veg is a must-try for any non-vegetarian food...

Surve's Pure Non Veg Restaurant has garnered a reputation for serving delicious non-vegetarian fare, a buzz that led my group and me to eagerly try it out. However, sadly, our experience fell considerably short of the expectations built by the positive word-of-mouth.
Upon arrival, we were immediately met with a slightly limited menu, as several items were reportedly unavailable. While this can happen occasionally, it did slightly dampen the initial excitement. Undeterred, we proceeded to order a spread that we hoped would showcase the restaurant’s best: Mutton Sukka Fry, Chicken Curry, Chicken Kharda, and Chicken Dum Biryani.
Unfortunately, the food failed to impress. While not outright bad, none of the dishes managed to stand out or leave a lasting positive impression. The Mutton Sukka Fry, typically a robust and flavorful dish, lacked the expected punch. The Chicken Curry was similarly unremarkable, failing to deliver the depth or richness we hoped for. The Chicken Kharda was perhaps the most palatable of the lot, but even that was merely "okay-okay," not something that would warrant a return visit.
The Chicken Dum Biryani, often a star dish at non-vegetarian restaurants, was disappointing. To be completely honest, my party and I have experienced far superior non-vegetarian meals at other establishments.
Ultimately, our experience at Surve’s Pure Non Veg Restaurant left us feeling underwhelmed. While we understand that individual experiences can vary, our visit did not live up to the expectations set by the positive feedback we'd heard.
Conclusion:
Surve's Pure Non Veg Restaurant, while potentially capable of better, did not deliver a memorable meal...
Read moreDuring my visit to Pune on one Sunday I was craving for a Marathi food and Google fetched me this restaurant within 500 meters with a rating above four and reviews that goes on to two extremes. People either raving about their food or just hate it. I decided to take the risk.
I liked the pun on their name. This is a no frills restaurant with main focus on the food than mood or textures of an specialty restaurant.
With most of the items on the menu are German to me because I am not familiar with Marathi food most I ordered Chicken Thali @INR 450 that includes one chicken curry, chicken rasa and Khima. They asked if I prefer the Rasa spicy or normal. I opted for spicy. They came with two bowls of Rasas one normal and the other one was hotter. BOY the normal one was so spicy and flavourful it just opened my all senses.
Food was awesome. No heavenly. The waiters taught me how to mix Khima and Rasa and chapattis together. It tasted even better. When I finished my meal I was sweating all over. The waiter brought me Solkadi and helped me to cool me down. BOY!
It might seem to be expensive but the gastronomic experience totally adds up to the value of it.
Note that : Google somehow shows slightly wrong location if you are coming from the Irani Cafe side, you have to walk more ~50 meters from the map location.
Visit their kitchen, they don't have any refrigerators. They don't serve leftovers, so be sure what you are eating are fresh and today.
If you are a vegetarian please be aware that you have ONLY water. There's absolutely NOTHING for the vegetarians.
That's why it's Surve's PURE Non Vegetarian Restaurant....
