We recently visited this café and, unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. There was no one else there when we arrived, and we ordered two lemonades and a bottle of water — the total bill came to what we’ve paid for a meal for two at other restaurants we've visited. It felt extremely overpriced. Location was good though, so I guess it has a tourist premium.
The service was also poor. We had to repeatedly ask for the AC to be turned on, and when we asked to borrow a pen to write some postcards, we were initially told there wasn’t one — only to later discover one at the counter, which we were then allowed to use. It felt unnecessarily difficult and unwelcoming.
Although we were only there slightly over an hour, a staff member (possibly the manager) asked us to leave because we weren’t ordering lunch. That in itself was surprising, but what really hurt was seeing another tourist — who was not Indian — sitting nearby just drinking water, and they weren’t asked to leave. It’s the first time I’ve ever been kicked out of a place in a tourist area, and I couldn’t help but feel there was some bias in how we were treated. We may look Indian, but we’re British — and like other tourists, we expect a level of politeness and respect when we're paying customers.
To be fair, the drinks were nice and the view is beautiful — that’s probably the only reason people visit. But because of the poor service, the dismissive attitude, and what felt like discriminatory treatment, I can’t recommend this place. It’s not hard to communicate boundaries with kindness, and when paying 500 rupees just for basic drinks, a customer deserves...
Read moreUdaipur is known for its scenic beauty and rich heritage, but when it comes to dining, it's always exciting to find a place that brings something unique to the table—literally. Recently, I visited a restaurant that’s been creating quite a buzz for its food. While I must agree that the culinary offerings here are delightful, the overall experience was a bit of a mixed bag.
The restaurant itself is tucked away in a rather small and congested space. The rooms are cozy, but the cramped environment might not be everyone's cup of tea. However, if you're here purely for the food, you're in for a treat.
We started with their much-talked-about lemonade, which lived up to its reputation—refreshingly good. The ginger ale was another highlight, with just the right amount of zing to do justice to its name.
Moving on to the main course, we tried the chef-recommended pasta. To say it exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. The pasta was a delightful surprise—who knew you could find such authentic flavors in Udaipur? It was definitely a highlight of the meal.
The wood-fired pizza also impressed. The thin and crunchy crust was a perfect base for the mouth-watering sun-dried tomatoes and juicy cherry tomatoes. Every bite was a burst of flavor, making it a must-try if you're a pizza lover.
After dining at numerous places in Udaipur, I can confidently say that this restaurant stands out for its food, and that’s clearly their USP. If you’re looking for a place where the food speaks for itself, this might just be the hidden gem you’ve been searching for. Just be prepared for a more intimate...
Read moreWe heard a lot about this café and were waiting to visit this place. We finally planned for Udaipur and visited this café. We went there in evening around 5 pm on Friday but there was film shooting going on so we were seated on ground floor. We had sandwiches and coffee- they tasted really good.
But our visit didn’t end there. We went to the café next day for brunch and it was one of the best Saturday brunch we had. This café is definitely for amazing view but also the food is really good!!!
Tried a lot of food and beverages over here.
We tried 2 different types of pizza- Margherita pizza and Veg supreme pizza. Quantity of the pizzas were great and we loved the pizza crust. They are not spicy in taste so we added lot of chilli flakes to suit our taste buds.
Tried tomato and cheese sandwich and cheese chilli toast. The sandwhiches tasted great and were filling as well. Just the toast was served as sandwich was something new for us as in Ahmedabad, they are served in a different manner.
Pesto pasta was simply the best part of the meal. The way it was cooked in olive oil with the veggies made it delicious. Perfect amount of seasoning and garlic flavour.
Loved Mocha frappe, Oreo shake and Blue Slush. They are must haves at the café. Oreo shake was thick and creamy. Mocha frappe is a classic cold coffee with ice cream and chocolate. For people, who are fond of mocktails/ slush, blue lagoon is a must.
Nutella pancake was another star dish. Loved the soft and chocolaty pancake.
Overall our experience was very good and this place will certainly be a must visit place for us whenever we...
