We had just arrived in the city, did a couple touristy things and were starving while looking for a place to eat. Came across this place in the late afternoon, early evening. Not sure they were quite open as there was some confusion when my cousin was talking to the staff but they accommodated us. Another reason I think they weren't open was us 4 were the only people there, the chairs were stacked and the food took forever to prepare. This is not a negative if they opened early just for us but would be a negative if not... i'm just not 100% sure. But when we did get the food, it was delicious and plentiful. The view was amazing and we ended our meal as the sun was setting over the lake which the restaurant overlooked (which again makes me wonder about their hours because nobody else came to eat during that entire ~2 hours). Would visit again if returning to udaipur, but just not when...
Read moreBaffled by all these 5 star reviews. Pretty sure they must be fake. It's alot of stairs to get up there. Once we were up it didn't look open but the staff said it was and gave us menus. It was empty. We should have left. It took 45 minutes to get simple drinks. Diet Cokes and lemon soda. Then the food took over an hour. We were just looking for a lunch. It took so long and the breads came out wrapped in tin foil. Service was terrible, they kept forgetting items. There was no bathroom to use so my friend had to use one of the occupied guest rooms toilets?! Sketchy. Also when we went to pay the prices quoted on the bill were higher than the menu. It was pricey. 350 rupees for paneer. Don't fall for the hype, this was not a...
Read moreVery disappointing. The only good thing was the view, the rest was mediocre at best. Entrance to the restaurant is by climbing four steep floors, which can be problematic for the elderly.
The service was extremely slow, never had such long wait for simple dishes in any restaurant in India. And the wait was not worth it. Malai Kofta, which is usually a very good dish, was just bad. Rice was ok, Dal Fry was mediocre.
The sink had no running water to wash hands.
The sun made it impossible to sit in most of the tables, as it was too hot during lunch.
Prices are average for a restaurant in India.
In short, I truly cannot understand how this place has a rating of 4.5 as of...
