Food is love. Period. No one shows it better than Savage Garden. I have been a regular here for 20 years (and counting) and it's heartening to know that wherever you go in the world when you come back home some places taste the same, like a meal cooked by one's mother. Flavours that take you down a happy trip through memory lane and make you grateful for the experience. Savage Garden has changed addresses over the years but all have been home to the legacy of it's late founder. The secrets of the kitchen have been carried foward by their devoted team and I dare say no trip to Udaipur would be complete if one doesn't try their signature Chicken Wajjedali and amazing options of pastas. To top it off the bakery section is a magical assortment of must have apple pies, cheesecakes and brownies. Very very disappointing. First of all, we weren't told that it's 5 floors up. We had an 80 year old man with us who couldn't climb so many stairs. Anyways we hoped after all that climb, we would still get a decent meal. But everything that came was bitter. Our understanding was maybe the olive oil went rancid and noone knew about it. We had ordered spinach mushroom ravioli, garlic bread, aglio olio and fettuccine with chicken. Everything had a bitter taste and the food was downright disappointing.
