Our visit to Paantya Restaurant in Udaipur was simply wonderful. The atmosphere beautifully captured the essence of Rajasthani royalty combined with warm, genuine hospitality. Located within the iconic City Palace grounds, Paantya requires either a prior reservation or accommodation at the palace for entry. After entering from City Palace Road, we parked conveniently near Shiv Niwas Palace.
Throughout our visit, the staff was gracious and professional. We especially appreciated Ranjana Devi, who served us during lunch. Her attentive nature, genuine kindness, and clear understanding of our preferences made our experience truly memorable. Ranjana's sincere approach and warmth are rare qualities, even in high-end establishments.
We enjoyed dishes like Paneer Lababdar and Dal Makhani, paired with freshly baked butter garlic naan, stuffed kulcha, and ended with flavorful vegetable biryani. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and balanced perfectly.
From the delicious food and stunning views to the genuinely warm service, our experience at Paantya was memorable and worth every...
Read moreThe ambience is good and makes you feel like royalty. However, the experience with the food was highly disappointing. First of all, the menu is quite limited with very few dishes. This is especially true for the vegetarian options, where there are very few choices outside of paneer. We tried the kheema and gatta sabzi, but the taste of both was very ordinary. The former was absolutely appalling as it tasted like stale canned meat and had no flavour. The gatta gravy was fine but the gatta itself seemed undercooked. Overall, very disappointing, especially for the price you pay. Nearby restaurants could probably offer you much better value. You pay for the ambience and experience of being treated like royalty, but the food is so ordinary that the extortionate prices don’t...
Read moreThis bar is like none other in Udaipur. The music is perfect for the setting. You walk into the bar and are greeted by the amazingly hospitable staff followed by 2 stunning raja ravi Varma paintings facing each other. The food is really amazing. Feels like you’re eating from the palace kitchen. The bar tender Nirmal kumar kept us entertained for the entire evenings , telling us about the town , a bit of the history of the palace and organised a show around of the room that bond movie octopussy was shot in. Truly beautiful. Living in a piece of history. Nirbhay and Ram Singh ensured that we were absolutely pampered at the restaurant. The rabadi dessert is delicious! Must not be missed! This place is...
