My friends and I just had one of the most frustrating experiences at Got Tea, and sadly, it left a really bad impression as compared to a few years back when I used to visit it.

To start with, it took us over 30 minutes just to place our order—and this was on a day that wasn’t even particularly busy. During that time, we sat outside, where the table was dirty and left unattended. We had to ask someone to clean it, which already set the tone.

Later, we moved upstairs, hoping for a better vibe, only to find that the table there was also dirty. We waited for someone to come by, but after being ignored, we ended up cleaning it ourselves with tissue and surface spray we found near the washroom.

After placing our order, we waited for what felt like forever — at least another 30 minutes — only to notice that everyone who arrived after us was getting their drinks before us. My friend went down to check and discovered that our order had been taken on paper but never punched in. While the staff did apologize once they realized the mistake, it was still incredibly frustrating that we had to track down the issue ourselves by comparing timestamps on other customers’ orders.

When the drinks finally arrived, we hoped the wait would be worth it. But unfortunately, the matcha was extremely underwhelming — flat in flavor and not even close to what the café’s branding suggests. With all the hype, aesthetics, and marketing, we expected at least the drinks to deliver — but they didn’t.

It’s disappointing to see so much effort put into image, but not into taste, basic service, cleanliness, or quality control. The whole experience felt chaotic and disorganized.
