Excellent dinner venue with a delightful choice of artists, with Jazz at the very heart of it.
The cocktails are lovely and diverse, with the Guava Chili being my personal favourite.
I really like the fact that there's a separate seating area for smokers - since it doesn't disturb non-smokers like me while giving the smokers their own space.
The food is delicious with plenty of variety on offer. I would strongly recommend trying the Shiitake Mushroom Dimsums and the Koliwada Prawn Pizza. The Churros are honestly one of the best I've had in South Delhi.
However, please don't expect "wholesome" portions or a cost-effective meal. Secondly, there's no variety of Artists (it's mostly Chochung Dema) for Lunch which isn't appreciable since I've seen Jazz Clubs abroad with separate Lunch and Dinner Artist rosters. Strictly personal opinion, but I do not like the Pop and Indie nights. Artists like Parvati La Cantante, Submarine in Space, and The Jazz Criminals truly resonate with what Piano Man is and there should be a core focus on Jazz and Swing - which has been on the decline imo, and it leaves me worried.
Although Delhi is a great market, I think that Piano Man would do really well in smaller and more refined markets such as Chandigarh, where it can truly shake up the food and dining scene big time (which is full of good dining with no music, or Pub or Clubbing venues with terrible food - leaving no place for old-schoolers like me) if it finds good artists or can call the Delhi artists on a 'fly in fly out' basis (like some of the artists did during a partnership with AirAsia).
The success of the Open Hand Jazz Festival (OHJF) in 2019 speaks volumes about the need of such a brand in the City Beautiful.
3/5, since there's definitely plenty of scope for development.

Read moreI've been coming to pianoman since it was launched the safdarjung branch It's my go to place I've hooted from the crowd, cheered up the band playing, screamed you're too good I'd been a regular for one year, since then I'm just get disappointed day by day. First they started taking entry charges which is fine with me as long as they are calling international artists to play or something new other than regular people Slowly the music artist quality started getting deteriorated, I heard a guy rap once inside in Hindi sorry it's not jazz to my ears. Then comes compulsory paying of money on sunday upon entering and listening to their regular people jam. It's just really sad. I could see the expressions on the faces of the artists completely contradicted to the posters they have on the walls, like you could see louis armstrong smiling and loving what he's doing. I couldn't see in the artists today when I sat. Earlier people were asked to speak slowly inside and appreciate the music. now it's become too commercial people talking too loudly it's tough to even hear people play My friend was sitting on a table he was asked to get up and sit somewhere else cause he wasn't planning to order. Yes pls make a person feel bad cause they don't order inside And let's not forget how much the artists get paid compared to other bars, very very less. Money flowing in should also be supporting these artists
I was really happy for the tpm team, them progressing forward I supported them too much but I'm hurt on what growth means to them Not at all looking forward to the opening of...
Read moreWent there for an anniversary dinner at 7.30 PM expecting live music and a good ambience over the dinner. Booked a table for two and confirmed booking using Zomato for 7.30 PM. The guy at the reception kept asking are you here for the show or just the dinner. We were not sure what the answer is as we did not know about the show. We said we booked using Zomato. His answer was no no Zomato Swiggy bookings are not good, you have to buy show tickets. I asked what time is the show and he said 9PM. Then i said maybe we will watch the show till 9.30 and leave as we had planned to hit home by 10, and his answer was no actually they dont start till 9.30 PM. Very unclear thinking and training to the person on how to handle the guest. In absence of options we had to plead to let us in and have dinner. And he did allow us in and we did have an average meal, but the place has to make up its mind on what it wants to sell.. Show tickets or a meal or both as a combo. If Zomato has contirmed my table, why is a guest getting questioned at the entrance. If a guest is walking in at 7.30PM, why is he being coerced to buy a show ticket which starts at 9.30PM? Very confusing indeed. And when we were walking out at 8.30 PM, the same rattle was being relayed to another guest at the entrance.. Zomato Swiggy...Guys if you dont like Zomato Swiggy, remove your listing from there. The good part was the place had a great vibe. A band was practicing seriously for a live show later and we did enjoy a bit of practice music, while we had our meal which was also...
