A2B : Restaurant Review
Awsome ambience in an pass through highway the restaurant was cool and sufficient
As a vegetarian, finding a restaurant that caters exclusively to my dietary preferences can be a challenge. However, my recent dining experience at a vegetarian restaurant exceeded my expectations and left me thoroughly impressed.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by its warm and inviting ambiance. The decor was tastefully done, incorporating natural elements and earthy tones, creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's commitment to sustainability was evident, with eco-friendly practices and a focus on locally sourced ingredients.
The menu offered a diverse selection of vegetarian dishes, showcasing the creativity and versatility of plant-based cuisine. From traditional favorites to innovative creations, there was something for every palate. I appreciated the emphasis on fresh and organic produce, ensuring that each dish was bursting with flavor and nutritional goodness.
The appetizers were a perfect start to the meal, with a variety of options to please all taste preferences. The vegan spring rolls were a delightful combination of crunchy vegetables and savory sauces, while the avocado bruschetta offered a creamy and tangy twist on a classic dish.
For the main course, I opted for a vegetable curry served with aromatic basmati rice. The curry was rich and aromatic, with a perfect blend of spices that tantalized my taste buds. The generous portion size ensured a satisfying meal without feeling overly indulgent.
The dessert selection was a pleasant surprise. From vegan chocolate mousse to dairy-free cheesecake, the desserts were decadent and guilt-free. I indulged in a vegan coconut panna cotta, and it was a creamy, coconutty delight that left me wanting more.
Service at the restaurant was friendly and attentive, with the staff displaying a genuine passion for vegetarian cuisine. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful suggestions for those new to plant-based dining.
The only slight drawback was the restaurant's limited beverage selection, with relatively few options for non-alcoholic drinks. However, the quality of the food more than made up for this minor inconvenience.
In conclusion, the vegetarian restaurant provided a delightful dining experience for vegans and non-vegans alike. The ambiance, flavorful dishes, and dedication to sustainability make it a standout choice for anyone seeking a healthy and satisfying meal. I left the restaurant feeling nourished, inspired, and eager to return to explore more of their creative...
Read moreMy recent visit to Adyar Ananda Bhavan in Mamallapuram left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. What was supposed to be a pleasant dinner outing turned into a series of unpleasant encounters and subpar dining experiences.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the overcrowded atmosphere. Despite the bustling crowd, it was disheartening to see that the restaurant operated on a self-service basis only. While this may be manageable in less crowded establishments, it was clear that the sheer volume of customers made this system impractical and frustrating.
Adding to the frustration was the encounter with a staff member who appeared to be unfamiliar with the local language and customs. I found it concerning that the staff member seemed unable to communicate effectively in Tamil. When I politely asked for assistance in arranging a table for six, I was met with a dismissive and disrespectful response. It was evident that the lack of language skills and basic manners among the staff further exacerbated the already unpleasant dining experience.
The lack of transparency regarding the self-service policy was also concerning. While I inquired about any potential price difference between self-service and dine-in options, I was informed that there was none. However, the insistence on self-service without adequate staffing to manage the crowd was both perplexing and unacceptable. If the restaurant was unable to provide sufficient service to its customers, measures should have been taken to reduce capacity or increase staffing levels.
When we finally managed to secure a table, the quality of the food was another disappointment. The dosa served to us appeared unappetizing, with noticeable black particles on its surface. It was clear that the dosa tava had not been properly cleaned, raising concerns about the hygiene and sanitation practices in the kitchen. While a fresh dosa was provided upon request, the overall quality of the dish was lackluster. Additionally, the sambar served did not live up to the standards of Tamil Nadu cuisine, further diminishing the dining experience.
In conclusion, my experience at Adyar Ananda Bhavan in Mamallapuram was deeply unsatisfactory. From the overcrowded and chaotic atmosphere to the lack of communication and respect from the staff, there were numerous factors that contributed to a negative dining experience. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment and instead seek out alternative dining options...
Read moreI went to this place specifically because of A2B reputation & I wanted a good experience. But I was hugely disappointed. On the positive side there is ample space here & green cover for relaxed dining in open area, if weather obliges. There is enough parking space, there is change room & feeding room for women. The taste of food though not as much as I expected based on my past experience, it was still good. The service at this particular restaurant was pathetic to say the least. The A2B brand has grown big & there is huge footfall particularly on a weekend / holiday season. The brand is awfully understaffed and not scaled up to manage the crowd or meet the expectations. The staff are unable to handle pressure & simply turn away when any customer approaches them. This is a self service restaurant & it was a pain to stand in the long queue, then hunt for a table to sit (covered area), wait endlessly for the staff to clear the table , the place was warm, conjusted & uncomfortable, none of the tables had tissue paper, water jugs not filled, quantity of chutney / Sambhar is inadequate & you have to help yourself by going to the serving counter in case you run out of chutney / Sambhar, 90 Rupees for one piece of medu vada is way above average considering the poor facility & service. Even the washrooms are very cramped inspite of plenty of open spaces....The washroom hygiene/ cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I was shocked to see the coffee / tea counter person handling the steel tumblers with fingers dipped insite. A2B, Mahabalipuram does not live upto the A2B benchmark. I informed the manager that the service is not good, but it was evident that neither he is the manager nor he has got any training to handle customer complaints. A2B, Mahabalipuram is all over hyped & fails to live upto...
