Chamiers Cafe, or technically Wild Garden Bar & Restaurant, situated at Chamiers Road is a dynamic space with an eclectic mix of retail space with unique designers showcasing their range of clothes, jewellery and home furnishings. The heart of this space is definitely their cafe that transports you to an era of beautiful canopies, very British furniture, with beautiful art on the walls as well as on the plates. The very regal atmosphere made my choice for breakfast simple, a very British Full Fry Up English Breakfast served usually with fried eggs, bacon, chicken sausages, roasted tomatoes, buttered mushrooms, baked beans, toast, butter and preserves with a glass freshly pressed juice, and a choice of coffee or tea afterwards. The watermelon juice served was at room temperature as they don't like to add ice cubes to reduce the concentration. I requested my fried eggs to be customized for a mushroom cheese omelette, which the cafe obliged and made a decent version, the bacon, though wasn't crisp, was delicious and the highlight was the lightly peppered chicken sausages that were absolutely beautiful. The second highlight was the cappuccino, it was fantastic, strong, beautiful flavors that I enjoyed with a pouch of demerara sugar. While the outdoor space is limited, the indoors are very beautifully curated, transporting you to a different era altogether, I absolutely enjoyed spending time here and promised to come back to explore their extensive breakfast menu, again, but also to explore their lunch options. It is something that I highly recommend so much that you will find this space under my new tag #apjprecommends100% As promised I visited the Wild Garden cafe @ Chamiers again to try out the world of breakfast options that they serve and this time my pick was a German Breakfast, more specifically the Bratkartoffeln, which is essentially a dish made out of thinly sliced potatoes fried in butter or vegetable oil with an occasional addition of either onions, garlic, herbs like rosemary, bacon or all. My version had beautifully cooked potato slices, with caramelised onions with just salt and pepper for seasoning. The German Breakfast in addition to the bratkartoffeln, also had fried eggs, and buttered sourdough toast on the side. I did opt for an additional add-on of Chicken Schnitzel and brown sauce. It was a very beautiful meal, protein and power packed goodness on the plate. The taste of the bratkartoffeln reminded me of my version of the Spanish Omelette, sans the egg. The fried eggs were seasoned perfectly and the butter sourdough toast was outstanding. It had the perfect level of soft vs the hard exterior and I absolutely enjoyed every bite into this delicious toast. The Chicken Schnitzel was very well made, though I was disappointed as I was expecting a thin flattened breaded chicken, but these were more like chicken fingers. Definitely tasty with or even without that yummy brown sauce. Overall a great breakfast, and I just can't wait to come and try the Turkish breakfast here soon.

We wanted to try Sunday brunch and so visited Chamiers. We struggled to find seating and the ones offered were either too close to other customers ( covid scare) or uncomfortable chairs or low tables where one has to bend down and eat. Finally, when we got a place to sit, the chairs weren't very comfortable with no proper back rest. People spend a lot of time here, may be the restaurant should upgrade their furniture. Ambience was good, the usual chamiers charm. But the experience with the waiter was a disaster. The person who served us neither knew English nor Tamil nor Hindi. How are we supposed to communicate? We opted for the American breakfast but I asked him not to serve the bacon ( I don't eat beef/pork) yet he served with bacon. When I asked him to remove and substitute with something else, first the waiter refused, later he came with 2 slices bread toast. I didn't ask for the toast as substitute, he decided that I should eat that. The meal already comes with bread toast, why will I have more toast. I asked him whether they can substitute bacon with extra pancake or French toast, nope! He wasn't ready and started arguing. My friend is allergic to water melon juice, we asked if it can be replaced, again firm no. We asked him if he can serve the pancakes later, since it will become cold, by the time we finish the other items, again firm No. I have never seen anyone refusing everything. We were about to lose our patience, thank god, a person who looked like a senior or manager appeared and he sorted out the issue of bacon replacement and juice replacement. But pancakes were served cold anyways. And after that , the waiter disappeared. Disappeared to the extent that we have to wait 30 mins to get our bill. We asked several times, no body bothered, literally no body bothered, we thought we will just walk out, probably they will notice us then. Food was great though, my friend liked her bacon. Juice was fresh, I liked my spinach scrambled eggs. But the good food experience was spoiled by bad hospitality. We packed some of their desserts. The quantity and the taste was only so and so. For the price we paid, the desserts weren't worth it.

This is a genuine experience i had with this place. Visited with 3 other friends and was surprised why this place had so much of hype. It has may be lost its charm from before. Atmosphere was looking very normal and not maintained properly. Menu have to be updated because it was so boring. We wanted to try their coffee and tried it and the person working there was asking us thats it for 2 coffees! His expectation was that we will all have something to eat and the reaction he gave was his disappointment that the order is just 2 coffee. And then the coffee came and that was even worst. Service was pathetic they are choosing their customers who they want to be nice with and others are just left out. I asked for a glass of water to the guy who was like a manager. He saw me, and he came passed my table for something else but refused to get that glass of water. Even if he was the owner of that place, he could still get a glass of water since it is a basic request. So if you go here you have to order a lot and that's exactly how much respect you will get in return. Trust me on this, i regret the 600₹ i spent in this place because the attitude that this place is carrying is not worth my 1₹. Will definitely not recommend whatsoever and will definitely want people to know so they wont be treated wrong. We spend money and the money is ours, so we can choose a place where we will be valued and given good service and quality food. I now believe all the reviews that had one star ⭐️ are absolutely customers experience and not fake ones. Also not to forget the toilet was horrible for the expensive dishes and coffee they sell. Pathetic with no tissues and basic cleaning. Do Not Visit if you want a good experience.
