Avoid this restaurant. Visited here first time after lot of overhypes. Taste they are good but THEY LACK IN QUALITY. Especially in non veg, that too spoilt/old meat is unacceptable. May be they serve fresh sea food on weekends but I had a horrible experience on a Friday during lunch today. I was served very old prawns with foul smell and some of the pieces were like smudged potato, clearly rotten. Look at the prawns plate, they are not even properly cleaned. Hand wash area I noticed a staff washing utensils and mixie cups without any dishwash soap. Only very few staff had worn gloves and head caps, all those who served me didn’t even washed their hands and looked dirty. When I informed they wore gloves. Chicken Tandoori was 70% cooked. I had eaten only the portions which are cooked well. After I reported unclean utensils using which they served the prawns, they simply transferred the food content to another plate and kept me and the captain lady who took the order was justifying that prawns are super fresh and a fresh catch! First time I experienced such a bad quality prawns and couldn’t imagine this restaurant staff is taking lesson to me on how fresh and clean their food is. I left them as it is and asked them to eat instead if it is so fresh. Can’t believe these guys didn’t even cancel the bill for prawns. I paid the full amount and left, will never return. With such attitude and bad quality of food, this restaurant will soon be out of demand.

This is one of the top ten restaurants I've eaten at. What I think is the best thing about this place is that all the food they serve here has the flavor of the countryside and at the same time the color that the city people like. It looks very comfortable but the food inside is moderately priced. Sitting here and having a meal gives you the satisfaction of eating in restaurants from our hometown. I am a young man who came to Chennai in for work, so I feel this way. They prepare food without compromising on the taste of the food served. The staff working here also understand the needs of the customers and act accordingly and behave very politely. And r the main positive is they playing tamil old songs because in many Chennai restaurants they playing English song or Hindi song but in this restaurant they play a Tamil song which is came 80's and 90's so it's so pleasent .Everything from the soup at the beginning to the ini at the end is delicious. The only problem we had when we were eating here was that here they said that the Ilanir payasam and halva in the menu card were not ready and they stopped it. It would be good if they provide that to the customers. Another drawback is that the parking lot is arranged in a very small space. It would also be great if they arrange a place exclusively for this. Because the parking lot here is very small considering the crowd of people who come and eat here and I don't think it is enough.

Erode Amman Mess is a pretty new Restaurant and has been quickly becoming a crowd favorite... My friends wanted to have some kind of Non Veg Tiffin and Biryani so we zeroed in on this place... The Ambience is pretty good and the Covid guidelines were followed... The Service was extremely great... They made sure we had everything to our satisfaction... They made sure to refill on the sides as and when necessary... We ordered Thool Parotta, Mutton Biryani, Chicken Keema, Mutton Kola, Mutton Kari Dosai... We also ordered a couple of Parotta, Cut Rotti and a Empty Biryani... Thool Parotta was excellent and a novel dish... Small pieces of crispy fried Parotta was topped with Salna and Kalaki... This was delish and was over as soon as they put it on the table... The Mutton Kari Dosai was also good... Generous portion of Mutton and egg on a fluffy Dosai... The Dosai tasted good and with the Salna it was extraordinary... The Mutton Biryani was a Seeraga Samba Biryani with succulent mutton pieces... The taste was really good... The creamy Raita and Spicy Salna really complemented the dish... The taste is lip smacking good but isn't overpowering... The other dishes were good too.. But the above dishes were extremely good... I would probably love to revisit the place to try their lunch menu... I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who would like to have an Amazing Non Veg Spread...

Undoubtedly the most sought and happening kongu cuisine place in anna nagar . In our earlier visits food used to be top notch. Now it has become either a hit or a miss depending on you luck. Dinning space is very little given the crowd they get. Sundays are heavily crowded. Need to wait for 30 mins to 1 hour to get a table. But i have noticed Sundays are the most inconsistent when it comes to food . Even the safe bets Mutton biryani, Pallipalayam chicken, mutton chukka are inconsistent( salty/ bland etc) . It is so irritating to have sub par food after getting a table fighting through the mad rush. They have either replaced the initial cooking team or can't handle crowd and quantity. I sincerely wish they don't end up like another thalapakati, junior kuppana etc., Coz they were super good when launched. They are very well staffed with captains ,servers and cleaners swarming all over. Service is Swift. Accommodation guys stand on their feet and do a good job too. Prime location, self parking only, but shouldn't be a problem as they have paid parking from the corporation. Tip - If the waiting time is more than 30 mins it's better to skip. Visit on a non crowded day.

Being Annanagar vaasi I used to drive till Adayar to enjoy the food from Erode Amman Mess but now knowing that they had opened an outlet in Annanagar came as a big relief for me. They are maintaining the same taste as we get from their Adyar branch. They are still affordable for the quantity and quality they offer. Unfortunately they don’t have their signature Nungu Elaneer juice her 😭 But nevertheless they serve the best elaneer payasam u can ever get in Chennai. The consistency and the taste is top notch. Don’t forget to start with chicken rasam . . Follow me on insta @prashanthpg . . Updated - I went here again after the above review and this time I tried few more extra items like dragon paneer, kadai veg, chicken milagu gravy, and elaneer sarbat. Trust me all were good to my surprise. Dragon paneer is as expected towards sweeter side. Chicken milagu gravy was so good. And now a battle between Elaneer payasam(₹85) and Elaneer sarbath(₹100). No doubt, the winner is elaneer payasam. Elaneer sarbat is nothing but elaneer + nannari juice. Sarbat is okish while payasam is top notch.

This Hotel is located at Annanagar, after crossing kora food street you have to take left at clock tower. This restaurant's peak time is the lunch hrs, you have to go down stares for the restaurant, it was completely full. Two good thing is the parking was available at the front of the restaurant and at under floor phone network was available. I visited with my family, basically we waited for 15-20 minutes to get a table they noted our name and called us, it was worth a wait. They have tried their level best to manage the crowd and to keep the restaurant & services quick & clean. Food tasted good, perfect chettinadu taste and fragrance as expected. All the erode style dishes was good but pechipotta koli was a bit salty and dynamite chicken didn't came out as we tasted before, only these too dishes where a bit flaw. Must try parotta and Biriyani there, if they had kola urandai at the time you visited you are lucky. Best part was elaneer prayasam which made a perfect dessert to complete our meal. Keep your hands clean and wear mask regularly at public places and take care.
