The Lord is here, and he doesn’t seem to fail in impressing us! His abode in the heart of the city is so magnificent with his massive throne, pointy swords and metallic armor. It covers a vast area and is beautifully lit. It also boasts a wonderful decor with a great space for gatherings and get-togethers with friends or even colleagues. The bar counter looks interesting and the entire space is super clean and tidy. On the whole, this is a fancy place that is currently the talk of the town!
Adding to this, the music is on point and gets you going. You will want to listen and dance to what the Lord wants.
The food looked splendid and tasted great. A very appreciable food styling and service indeed.
We began with a soothing Tomato Soup with Croutons and a Chicken Popcorn Salad. This soup was so perfect with crunchy croutons. To my surprise, the salad was extraordinary with a slight crunch from the popcorn. A much needed start to the grand feast at the Lord’s abode.
Some of the most noteworthy dishes were the Malai Paneer, Stuffed Mushrooms, Fish Poppers and Prawn Skewers.
The Paneer was absolutely gorgeous, succulent and fresh. That malai flavour was on point!
The Mushrooms were impressive. I really couldn’t stop with one!
The fish poppers were tender and crunchy. This would be perfect with a glass of beer.
I loved the Mutton Galouti Kebabs the best. It was served on crisp & fresh Tortilla discs, felt like silk and melt-in-the-mouth types.
The Prawn Tempura Sushi was quite different and not bad at all. Great way to style the wasabi too!
The Dumplings were decent, but what makes them great is the consistency of the wrapping dough. Here, it was a bit too thick. This took away from the strong flavours of the stuffings! We tried the chicken and vegetable variants.
The Chicken Tikka Trilogy looked phenomenal. It comes in 3 brilliant lavours - Tandoor, Malai and Hariyali. All of them tasted wonderful.
Their Pizzas have the best cheese pull and they are quite generous with the ingredients too! Absolutely loved the Chicken Tikka Pizza.
They have a number of alcohol infused dishes such as JD Dal Makhani! These are worth a try, at least for the experience.
Also, the Lord is ready to host you at any time of the day! So, all you Elves, Dwarfs and Men, get ready to...
Read moreI'm a non drinker and non smoker but wanted to go to this RestroBar.
Wait!!! You might think what the hell are you doing here if you are not drinking?!!! Yes! That was the exact reaction from the front desk guy when I entered the place. I replied I just came to enjoy food and the ambience. With little hesitation he let us in.
The place was fantastic with Vikings/Warriors theme. It had cozy coaches with large TV every side to enjoy fav sports. It had a large open terrace bar where you can enjoy the natural breeze and even smoke. It had a great DJ going till 11pm. We loved the songs and even our lazy feet dance a bit 🤣
Since we don't drink, I was hesitant to place the order as the waiter gave the drink menu at first.. I told him we don't drink and he politely took the drink menu back and gave the food menu and also he said feel easy and free here.. just enjoy your time here!
We asked the waiter (Lokesh aka Loki) to help with best food.. he gave us few suggestions and we ordered the same. To our surprise all the food was very good tasty and yummy. Infact Loki helped us to choose the choice of meat and topping which turned out to be very good. Actually we could only finish half of the food we ordered, so we asked if they can pack the leftover and they agreed and neatly packed and gave us.
Loki asked us to try some mojitos, again we lift it to his option and he gave us a best drink which we enjoyed too.
Finally on the pricing - the food was cheap for the ambience, music and taste you get. But the drinks I think was costlier. My final bill (all nonveg) with 2 starters, 1 full pizza, 1 mojitos was ₹1700 with tax and service charges. Which is definitely a fair cost for a couple to enjoy a night at RestroBar in Chennai's...
Read moreWent there with 3 other friends. We ordered 2 pitchers and multiple food along with the drinks.we spent around 3hrs. Over all bill came to 13k. While paying we had asked for dineout discount. Our smiling courteous staff arul said he will check once with the higher manager. A guy pops in to the scene saying he is the manager , starts handling us in an incredibly unruly manner which resembled a rowdy behaviour. Fist and teeth clenching , showing awkward faces, showing no remorse for his attitude. He threatens us saying ,I will see how will you guys enter next time. All the time we maintain the composure and calmly reciprocating. Now he calls the bouncers loudly and starts to threaten us to throw out immediately. Now enters the Manager Mr. Raghu. He calmly handled the rude staff. Schools the rough staff how not be in the front service. Gives us the dineout discount. We went out to unwind with two people drinking and two people not drinking. But ended up spoiled minds even after giving a 13k bill. Note our food bill was bigger than the drinks bill. So we weren't tipsy during this altercation.
This incident is a another classic example of how the lack of training of the service managers brings down the experience of a customer. One guy simply spoiled the night with his lack of experience in service and a bad attitude and uncouth behaviour, which is not at all accepted in the service industry.
The only whole good moments being the very courteous service of Mr. Arul and the smiling calm face of the manager Mr. Raghu, who handles the situation very neat and calm.
Hope the management sees this review and corrects its course.
Thanks we will not return to this place ever....
