Yesterday my family and I visited this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've given below a slightly elaborate review which might help others.
Beverages- Mojito- we ordered the mango and lime mojito. It was sour, tangy and mildly sweet- a refreshing zesty drink Lemonada- this is a must try. Flavours that you can't even conceive of- condensed milk with lime and soda. We absolutely loved it.
Starters Nachos- 3 colored chips. I was not aware of purple and white corn. I had only ever seen yellow ones. The dips were good. It was satisfactory Mango habanero chicken wings - another MUST TRY. The sweetness of ripened mangoes with the punch of habanero chillies blended into a creamy sauce was just so delectable.
Mains: Fried chicken- American style fried chicken on soft tacos. Familiar taste- we enjoyed it, especially with the sour cream Chicken birria- chicken slow cooked to tenderness and pulled apart into shreds served with a consomme to add to the juiciness of the chicken. It was incredible. 3.cilantro lime chicken- familiar Indian flavours of cilantro based sauce served with rice. It's made for the Indian palate. You can't go wrong ordering this.
Dessert Churros- I've never had churros before. Crunchy from the outside and soft on the inside, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with warm salted caramel and chocolate sauce, this dessert was awesome.
Overall, although on the expensive side, it was a very enjoyable dining experience!
Chef Ganesh Kumar deserves a special mention for painstakingly explaining every dish to us and also helping us order, based on our requirements.
Thanks also to Abhijit for helping with the reservation.
Overall: Ambience -3.5 Food - 4.5 Value for money-...
Read moreservice issue. item which we had not ordered added. the person taking order kept on talking about the item chip n dip on the menu, saying that it's something u would not have tasted anywhere in india. Well we just ordered for tacos on the menu n told him we did not want it. n we would prefer to have a dessert later. even when he repeated the order, we told him to send only the tacos. if we want anything else later we will place an order for it. but would he listen to us... NO. AS EVERYONE WAS ORDERING IT WE MUST ORDER IT TOO!!! HOW CAN WE CANCEL IT!!! JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! it was sent n we must pay for it. we though it was something complementary as we could see it on most tables there. we were not told that it's 'chip n dip' when it was served. when we said that we had not ordered the said item, the person who took the order insisted that we had. when we told him everything that had transpired when we had ordered, he was just not ready to listen. cuz he just couldn't take it we had said NO TO THAT PARTICULAR DISH. and as we had eaten it we MUST pay for it. he even told us that NO RESTRAUNT SERVERS ANYTHING COMPLEMENTARY. Well I know of many that does. we had eaten it so we paid for it. n wasted the food that we had actually ordered for as we were stuffed. n frankly we did not find 'chip n dip' extraordinary. we have eaten better ones in chennai itself, don't have to search India for a better dish as he said. so my suggestion would be, if u visit that place please check the order list that the people over there have noted, or else u might find something added served that u...
Read moreWe had been to Mexe for lunch. 4 adults and 4 kids. I have to say the whole experience was truly awesome. Initially, Anush helped us by recommending a couple of starters. The nachos were crispy and yummy and the sides were all really good. Point to note- The guac is to die for! The kids were happily digging into the different types of salsas and their cheese dip was finger licking good. The Jackfruit tamale was a true surprise. Was brilliant. We had ordered 3 more starters- the creamy blackbean taquitos, stuffed peppers and tacos de canasta. Each dish was better than the previous one. We were surprised that there was no Burrito on the menu but they said they could customise one for us and gave us a truly authentic burrito. The fajita was really good. The Cheese quesadillas were gobbled down in no time both by the adults and the kids. The Chef Ganesh recommended a lot of these dishes. To me, the icing on this really good meal was their dessert -Tres Leches! It was a true surprise and I would highly recommend this milk based cake!! The churos were well, Churos. Crispy. Unfortunately we were so busy digging into the food that we didn't take a single pic. Initially I had no intention of writing such a long review but the food was just too awesome for me to not mention about it.
Overall this was a very enjoyable meal. The service was excellent and people were very friendly. Would definitely...
