Being a frequent lover of Fatboy since it started and even after the renovation, I didn’t expect I would say this but here it goes.
I had an extremely disappointing and disheartening experience today. I took all the kids of my family (we were around 7 people) to FatBoy today to celebrate Raksha Bandhan dinner. We were there for exactly 1hour 30 mins and the whole time the staff was really rude, impatient and disrespectful.
We had booked the table on Zomato but made the mistake on the count of guests, which either ways doesn’t matter, as we billed over 2K. From the beginning the staff was dull in taking orders and that dullness eventually became impatience as the manager and other staff kept looking and passing comments about the table. This made the kids very uncomfortable. They even tried to rush us by sending the bill early and forcing us to pay. While settling the payment, they argued about the booking and were really rude. This is embarrassing and sad, especially became were a special moment.
Here’s what the manager had to say: they get 60% of the cover charge from Zomato and he started arguing with us because we had only booked for 2 guests. According to the very obvious math, we technically saved them money by directly settling the bill to them and they didn’t have to 40% of the rest of 5 seats to Zomato. I don’t recommend this place at all if you want to have a good experience. The food is decent but the service will nullify it. So avoid it. Go to other places in TTK instead. They will treat you better.
This is a sincere request to the management to take stern actions in the discipline of the staff or atleast train them well for the bare minimum.
There goes a good place, I had some great...
Read moreHeard from a friend that the pizzas at The Fat Boy were awesome. After navigating a myriad of diversions all the way from Ayanavaram to Alwarpet, I was happy locating the place.
I found the eatery had a good amount of chairs available. Good music and a decent ambience sans the usual cacophony was really welcome.
I was greeted by a young attender who gave me a menu card and waited for the order. The card had a wide range of pizzas, breads and other assortments. The kitchen was open for viewing to the guests and the kids were excited to watch their pizza being made.
All our requests were acknowledged and factored in to make a tailor made pizza which got delivered in just 5 minutes flat.. The taste was yummy and the size very decent.
In just a few minutes, we ordered our next pizza and were looking into the kitchen watching another pizza being made. Shocked by the following observations...
To our horror, the chef was making the pizzas with his bare hands with no protective gear
There is no separate kitchen for vegetarians and non vegetarian orders..
The chef picked up some prawns from a freezer, dipped the same hands into the bowls of vegetables and the same hands into every possible container.. Nightmare for a vegetarian..
This place is a definite NO for pure vegetarians as the chefs have a pathetic sense of concern for vegetarians..
Everything was so good until we saw the way the pizzas were being made unhygienically. If this continues, the management may be losing out a huge chunk of their possible customer database..
Are you guys...
Read moreWent here for a Team lunch. They were nice enough to keep the restaurant open for us till 4:30 PM though they close by 3.
Every dish that we ordered for was finger licking good.
A few dishes that I tried and can remember are as follows
The Buffalo Potato was a clear winner. Super soft and juicy. I just couldn’t stop with one. Good quantity.
Chicken Nachos were equally good. So crunchy and tasty. Juicy chicken pieces. Perfect with Salsa and Jalapeño served along.
Atta boy pizza was more of a basic Pizza but with Buffalo Chicken and Goat Cheese. Not bad. I found it to be a little spicy. It could easily serve two people.
Oh, Boy is more of a Pesto sauce based Pizza with Ricotta, Mozzarella Cheese and Grilled Chicken pieces. Different from the usual tomato sauce based Pizzas.
No offence, but on the whole found the Pizzas to be more like Roti and Gravy. It could probably be because the Pizzas have a thin crust.
The Garlic Bread is noteworthy as well. Fresh, crisp buttery Garlic infused bread. But it would suck without that Aioli dip. The dips are surely the saviours.
A must-try place. Though its known for thin-crust Pizzas, I would recommend trying out their delicious appetisers/...
