Always loved the food here. This specific branch was working well initially. I came back here after a few months of being away and the experience was horrible. It was 3 of us and the order was given by about 1:20pm. We had ordered for 2 paneer starters, a paneer and a Manchurian main course with gravy apart from rice and noodles main. We had also asked for 2 Pepsi and 1 Lime Tea (because they said they had only Pepsi and had only lemon tea but not lemon soda). Food is usually served in 10-15 mins from my previous experience but this time it was 45 minutes up and we had asked where the food was. 5 mins later they bring the food and it was a Gobi starter which we didn’t order. The waiter was apparently “new” to the job so we didn’t bother questioning him. 5 more mins later we get our main course (rice and noodles) but no gravy or drinks. We reminded them about the starter and after a long discussion within themsleves the manager comes and tells us “Our paneer isn’t up to its standard. It’s not of good quality, it’s kind of melted.” They had the audacity to tell us all of this after a whole damn hour. The drinks still hadn’t come and when reminded they got it- it wasn’t cold and the sodas were super flat. We returned it and I told the manager that I’ve never had such a terrible experience. The manager was neither apologetic or worried about it. Sad sad story of Wangs, one of our...
Read moreWe were early for lunch, went in around 12:30 on a working day. There was only one other table occupied apart from us. There are 8 tables in total. The restaurant is situated at a not so busy joint in Alwarpet. The A/Cs were on full blast providing a cool respite from the warm and sultry weather outside. Sweetcorn chicken soup is a must try, quite exceeded my expectations. They didn't have chicken lollipop. We ordered dragon chicken, it was nice and fine. Kung pao chicken was well balanced, exactly as we requested with reduced spiciness. The fried rice was so delicious. They had vanilla and mango flavored ice creams. I got mango, it was the best ever mango ice cream I have had till date. Better than what you get in Italian ice cream shops in western Europe. No side effects in the afternoon or in the evening. Fantastic restaurant offering tasty and memorable food. Give it a try if you...
Read moreWent to Wangs Kitchen for lunch today, and the experience was beyond disappointing. Ordered the chicken cheese scallion wonton and Wang's classic fried rice. The chicken wonton turned out to be a complete letdown – when I questioned the chef, they claimed the chicken was minced. However, upon checking, it was evident that there was no trace of chicken; it was all about excessive cheese.
To add insult to injury, the fried rice was utterly tasteless. I've had better street food fried rice that puts theirs to shame. When I asked the chef to rectify the wontons, they refused to replace them or acknowledge the lack of chicken.
Consider this a warning: I would strongly discourage anyone from dining here for Chinese food. The experience was a complete waste of money, and I certainly won't be returning. It's simply...
