I have been a fan of Mezze for quite some time and when we found out that they are opening up in Annanagar with an updated menu, we were very excited. The taste of food was great and we got nothing to complain about, but the service was something I'm really not happy with. We ordered rosemilk after confirming that it has chia seeds and other add-ons, but what we received was plain rosemilk which is usually sold for 20 rupees. We checked with the manager who told us that they are out of chia seeds and other add-ons. He replaced my friend's drink with a sharbath, which he claimed has milk products and will be like Lassi, instead tasted like Rooh Afza! He later apologised and told that the menu was modified due to cost cutting and that they are not sure about the contents yet. However that explanation doesn't make sense when your own employee doesn't know what you sell! Moreover we were fully charged for two drinks even though we were served something very different! Also this place includes SERVICE CHARGES to your bill automatically and we need to ASK them to remove it. If you fail to notice, you pay 10% extra. Service charge is not mandatory, but why include it in the first place? People going there with family or on dates will be very hesitant to have that awkward conversation with the manager. I'm not sure if this comes under malpractice, but this is really uncomfortable! I personally will avoid Mezze Annanagar...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of middle eastern cuisine and after a couple of disappointing experiences...this one was unexpectedly pretty good......it is quite difficult to bring out the authenticity of a certain cuisine when the origin of ingredients available is quite different from what they use..(the tomato rice that my mother made here tasted soo much better than when she made it in the country where we live). On that note, mezze had a pretty good take on the cuisine and the starters that we had were absolutely fine 🤌🏻. I'm not a big fan of olives however, the olive fritters were amazing and the cheese filling perfectly complemented the olives and the dip was perfect. The spinach spanakopita was good(the caramelized onions were a great pair). Middle eastern cuisine usually uses minimal spices and ingredients and brings out the essence of it to the max so it's light, subtle while filling at the same time. The dishes that I tried kind of felt like a fusion but it is absolutely worth it if you want to try arabic dishes. The price is within the acceptable range and the brownie was amazing. (The grilled broccoli was a bit salty and the roasted chicken was a bit bland -friends). The dips (humus, toum) were on point and I'm actually surprised they had dishes with sumac which is my personal favorite and I'll definitely try...
