Dear Sir,
I am writing this review to express my disappoinment with the experience I had at your established coffee shop "Starbucks in Adyar on 23rd March, 2024.
While I had high hopes for an enjoyable dining experience with my children, I unfortunately met with several issues that left me quiet dissatisfied.
Firstly, the service was extremely slow. Secondly, I ordered for honey nut latte (hot with whipped cream) but they forgot to add the whipped cream topping and this was not the first time that happened. I have been here couple of times before and the same mistake happened by the same staff. I was little upset and went and told the staff who was taking the orders.
Thirdly, after few minutes we saw one guy taking reviews (wasn't wearing starbucks uniform but was from your establishment) from everyone about the experience and giving them cookies in a pouch as a freebie I believe, except us. My children felt embarrassed and felt ignored.
My children love the ambience of star bucks but this particular incidence where we were told to leave at 9 pm made us wonder why we chose this place. The staff named "Ajith" had a frown face while stating that. In google the closing time mentioned was 11 pm.
I would like to request you to kindly take corrective actions to be taken to improve the service of the staff members at star bucks in adyar. I suggest you to provide staff training to improve their responsiveness and communication more diligently towards their customers.
I hope that these issues can be...

This is the second time I’ve experienced this : I ordered a coffee, and the barista (who, to be clear, are polite people doing their job under pressure) subtly asked if I’d be staying long and hinted that I’d need to order food if I planned to work. That’s absurd. A café isn’t a co-working space, but neither is it a zamindari courtyard where customers must justify their being.
Since the brand’s leadership changed hands to an Indian CEO, it feels like a certain feudal, control-obsessed attitude has trickled down to the way some outlets operate — and sadly, this branch seems to embody it.
For contrast, the professionalism I’ve seen in Mumbai and Hyderabad outlets is missing here. If the branch manager is reading this: please rethink how you treat your patrons. This is not what Starbucks...

I’ve been a regular customer at this Starbucks, visiting frequently and ordering food and beverages multiple times—especially during meetings.
But today was absolutely unacceptable.
After stepping into the café briefly for a meeting and leaving without ordering (as I was in a rush), the manager, Karthikeyan, came out of the café and walked up to my car just to tell me: “You keep coming and going without ordering anything.”
I was shocked.
This is not just rude—it’s completely unprofessional. A customer has every right to step in and out, especially someone who has been supporting the outlet regularly. To be questioned in such a manner, and that too outside the café, at my own car, is intrusive and disrespectful.
Starbucks is supposed to stand for hospitality, comfort, and trust. What I experienced today was the exact opposite.
Really disappointed. This is not how loyal customers...
