To most of Chennai diners Cascade restaurant is a "friendly neighborhood Chinese restaurant" .
It's been around for well over 4 decades and does fosters a sense of community, offering a welcoming and familiar atmosphere to its patrons through a combination of good food, affordable prices, and staff who treat customers like family.
Generally its has very comfortable, accessible location where people feel at home, whether for its for a family brunch, or a regular meal, creating a local anchor and a place for social gathering within the neighbourhood.
I visited Cascade AnnaNagar branch tonite with my family on.the eve of my daughter's birthday , affer a lapse of several years that too long before Covid times .
As is expected The staff here were very friendly and do remember regulars and their orders, and contribute to a warm and informal dining experience .
Mr Vijayakumar and Mr Arun Kumar who have been with Cascade almost from inception in Kakkani Towers basement over four decades ago are few dedicated loyal men ,who have kept the Cascade name flying high among its guests although the management had been changing hand and now resting with Mr Piren a Singapore based businessman but continues to be managed by Chaitanya Gourmet Pvt Ltd the original Promoters.
All will agree that hospitality can go only that far unless its backed by quality and tasty food !.
Here Barun Sankar, their Chief Chef again an employee from inception of Cascade ,delivers great food thats pretty comforting to both body n mind long a fter after relishing the varied recipes that are trade mark Cascade dishes over time !
The restaurant serves chinese food using locally sourced ingredients .

Read moreCascade is a very old chain of restaurants which first opened its doors to its customers in 1985 or 86. From day one they have served excellent Chinese cuisine at a very affordable costs without cutting on luxury, service and quality. I would not rate Cascade's luxury to 5 star hotels but they are not far from the so called 3 and 4 star hotels in terms of decor, ambience, service and quality of food and don't every think that so many decades of hospitality has taken their sheen. They are still right there competing with the best. They are actually a budget restaurant chain bit they don't make you feel that way.
Cascade has now expanded with number of branches all over the city . I tried the Anna Nagar branch. T is inhey have widened their cuisine range from just Chinese to Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, Mongolian and Vietnamese too. The restaurant is pretty big and can easily accomodate more than 50-60 pacs. The decor was very nice and warm
I ordered a Hunan fried rice and Thai Fried Noodles. The noodles was a little oily for my taste but yummy. The Phuket fish was very nice and the Crispy Lamb in Oyster sauce was excellent. Chicken Dimsums were not bad, the Chinese Prawns were outstanding . The Cascade food quantity is quite large that I packed the food home.
The service is very decent. They don't go over board nor are they lacking. The food order and time to reach the plate is pretty good. The Ann Nagar branch ambience is very nice and cosy. The only issue I had with this branch is that it is the 1st floor and they hardly have any parking space reserved for themselves. A big well known branch must have thought this out. One will eventually get your parking in one of the by lane abutting the restaurant.
I have no reservations to recommend Cascade . I am sure most of them must have tried but like you I keep going back to Cascade. Well Done 👍...
Read moreWanted to have some good Chinese food after a long time so today gave a try out with our family of five at The Cascade. We did not make any reservation for lunch but lucky enough to get a good table to seat our family comfortably .. when we got children it's not that easy to have a peaceful lunch if the place where we are seated is not that comfortable.. the manager seated us at a very good place and the service through out was excellent 👌 so 5 stars for Service and the atmosphere was peaceful and music played was serene . The quantity of the food served is too enough to feed one family ... As it was our first time we were not sure about the quantity but it was really good . I have not come across that many place that give so much . So absolute value for your money spent 5 stars . The taste is where it matters to me most when it comes to Chinese .. though my kids loved it very much because the dishes were sweet than spicy ... But to our taste buds we needed bit more spicy and authentic Chinese food ... But we will see to that when we visit again without our childern . But it's a good food . The restrooms are maintained very well . So more thumbs up. I didn't take any pics because I don't want to make the people aware of being a reviewer ... Because some places when they see us taking pictures of the food , they give us good service ... But The people of Cascade gave their best service no matter what .. so Kudos to The Cascade team and keep up the...
