Read moreI have been to VB three times in the past month and the following is the culmination of all my experience this far .
Do not come to VB annanagar on sundays or during holidays the food and management will be terrible.
Do not book their private room, it just a space with 15 PPL sitting together, they won't close the door and most importantly they will bring other guests to showcase the private room while you dine with your family and friends. Still you must pay Rs 2000/- per hour.
If you highlight the privacy issue with the manager he will divert the topic by saying they need the door open for serving despite having a back door for food service ( they do marketing for their private room facility with your money)
Worst of was the food. At my first visit , the food was excellent many new items where unique, my fav was their Gunpowder pizza and truffle oil white sauce pasta
However the food got worst by my third visit. ( My last visit was on Sunday and it was ayudha Pooja so my guess is the chef went on leave )
However i really appreciate all hard working servers , cleaners and all members of the hotel who work thier utmost to bring my food on time and bring it hot. Service is best at this place even in peak time.
When you leave the restaurant, you get mobbed by a swarm of beggers and thieves who turn ruffians if you don't give money and they will ask children to block cars from backing out that is until you pay them, and the management does not interfere with them.
So if you are looking to book private room in this hotel for your family for some quality time with your loved ones , kindly stay away. VB annanagar don't know what privacy means and will never respect or accept...
Read morePerfect ambience for a family dine out. The team has experimented a lot to come up with unique dishes for vegetarians. Here are the items we tried: Lemon coriander soup - Decent taste, will recommend and try again. 4/5 Coconut pumpkin soup - didn't like the nutty flavour, felt like a sweet kurma so would not try again. 2/5 Panneer Korean popcorn - if you like your food on the sweeter side you can go for it. For me it was a bit too tangy. 3/5 Soya cheese kebab (I guess) - would not try again, couldn't find any flavour. It needs some spice. 1/5 Mac and Cheese balls - very much enjoyed by my nephew, it's a must try for kids. 3/5 Hakka Noddles - very subtle, decent and enjoyable. 5/5 Idly and Paya - THE BEST. We polished it. 5/5 Podi Idly - We should have ordered it for starters it was SO good. The gun powder was spicy and lifted the flavour so well. 5/5 Kongu Vellai biriyani - I like my biriyani spicy. So if you prefer something subtle you can go for this. 3/5 Rasmalai - Average taste, rabri could have been thick 3/5
Service: Could have been quicker with the delivery of food ordered, we were given the starters before the soups arrived. The staffs were pretty kind though. 4/5
Ambience - SO RICH and looks like a palace. 5/5
Special mention to the chefs who curated many dishes in Vegetarian because usually they've very minimum option. Will definitely visit again to try some dishes again and also try out the new ones we could not try in the previous visit.
Hope...
