Ocean Grill Multi-Cuisine Family Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Thane

I had ordered a beer called Budweiser and Kingfisher and when he delivered it to me, I immediately (Pradeep) told his employee that the liquor delivered was of fake quality but he ignored it. I placed another order again and at that time I told him that if there is such poor quality fake liquor again, then do not bring it, but that time too the same quality fake liquor was delivered. When I noticed it, I immediately showed it to the employees, but they gave vague answers. I asked to call the owner but he ignored it. It is clear from their behavior that fake quality liquor is sold here in large numbers. It is crowded here, taking advantage of the fact that there is no problem of police checking while going home after drinking alcohol, they are only cheating the customers, and if anyone has registered any complaints here, they ignore it as if they have no fear of anyone. A few days ago, but something similar happened to me before, when I went there for dinner, I ordered Tandoor Chicken as a starter and he gave me boiled chicken with spices and heated it in the oven, when I asked him, his staff (Vinod and Baldev) said that this is how Tandoor Chicken is served here, I told them that this is not the first time I have come here, I have eaten Tandoor Chicken as a starter many times before, but this has never happened to me, to which the staff was calm and unresponsive. I am interested in cooking, so I could tell the difference, but drunk customers will not understand this difference at all and these people make fools of customers. I think (Ocean Grill) is playing with the health of customers by serving fake alcohol and poor quality food, so it is important to boycott such places. I always thought why this place is not famous/crowdy despite having good peaceful location, spacious dining hall, fancy name. I with my family visited this restaurant on Sunday afternoon for Lunch. There is ample parking space on the road. Open area had tables and I could see all men enjoying their drinks. The main hall also had boys and men having drinks. There is a family room and ofcourse we expected we would be offered table there. However, waiters insisted we sit in the same hall where there were all men having alcohol. We suggested them that they should open the family hall for us since family won't be comfortable sitting along the men drinking alcohol. Instead, waiters argues this is like family and you should sit here. I was told that we won't open family room in afternoon. Strange! After sometime, they opened family room, though we were disappointed we decided to have lunch, not to spoil the mood and travel to another hotel. So, I would give them only one star. Food - We ordered Chicken crispy, Chana koliwada for starters and Chicken Sukka (Mangalorean style). Chicken crispy was okay. For some reason, it was not served very hold. Crispy always tastes good when served hot. Chana Koliwada was disaster. Chicken Sukka was made with Mangalorean recipe but it didn't had salt. I recently went to Ocean Grill in Thane, and it gave more of a restrobar vibe. Just to be clear, it's not a full-on bar, but they do serve beer and other alcohol. The good thing is, they have a separate family room too, so even families can dine comfortably without any awkwardness.

The food was really good — the taste definitely stands out. The quantity is also great; honestly, one dish is more than enough for two people. It’s on the expensive side, but if you’re going for the taste and the experience, it’s worth it. You can easily manage under ₹1000 per person if you order smartly.

One thing to note though — the service is quite slow. Every time we ordered something, it took at least 15 minutes to arrive. But the good part is, the food always came piping hot, which made up for the wait.
