A Disappointing Evening: All Style, No Substance My recent Sunday night visit to this establishment was, unfortunately, a cascade of frustrations. Arriving around 8:30 PM, we were told to expect a mere half-hour wait. Despite seeing numerous negative reviews about the food, I decided to give it a try – a decision I now regret. What was promised as 30 minutes stretched into an agonizing 1.5-hour wait for a table. Once seated, the ordeal continued. We were a party of seven, yet after ordering, we were inexplicably asked to move to a much less comfortable table. To add insult to injury, our original, more suitable table was given to a group of five, seemingly due to a personal connection with the owner or staff. Our new spot was directly under a dripping AC unit, with a cooler blowing on our backs – hardly an enjoyable dining environment. The Food: A Culinary Letdown The food was a major disappointment. We ordered crab lollipops, some prawn dishes, chicken lollipops, and vada. While the crab lollipops seemed decent, everything else was a significant letdown. The vada were cold and clearly not fresh, and the rest of the food was completely tasteless and lacked any freshness. It's truly disheartening to see the name of Sindhudurg associated with such a poor culinary experience. Service and Management: Lacking in Every Aspect The service was equally problematic. I had to ask our waiter four to five times for the solkadi, a clear test of my patience. The management, or lack thereof, was evident throughout the evening. They showed no experience in managing crowds or seating arrangements, even prioritizing later arrivals over those who had been waiting. Final Verdict If you're considering a visit, do so only for the interior ambiance, as that seems to be the only redeeming quality. However, if you're looking for a good dining experience, I strongly advise against it. Save your time ,money and your appetite...

Read moreWe were drawn to this place by its appealing exterior, but unfortunately, the experience inside didn’t match the impression.
The restaurant overall is quite average — the only real attraction is its entrance. The seating is uncomfortable, and the space feels messy and poorly arranged.
While the staff are polite, they seem to lack genuine hospitality and warmth. It almost felt like they were working under pressure, with no smiles or enthusiasm.
The food was underwhelming. It lacked the authenticity or flavor you’d expect from a restaurant carrying such a reputed name — which now feels more like a gimmick than a reflection of quality.
We tried the stuffed bombil, which surprisingly was better than what we’ve had at Maharashtra Lunch Home and Darya Sagar. However, the chicken sukka thali was a big letdown — bland and forgettable. I’d recommend avoiding chicken dishes here altogether. The pomfret thali was just okay — nothing memorable or exciting.
In comparison, Majghar offers a far better seafood experience — from ambience and food quality to the warm staff and the welcoming owner at the counter. It might be slightly more expensive than Sindhudurg, but the difference in experience is well worth it.
If you’re looking for a truly enjoyable seafood meal, I would highly recommend...
