I visited Rupar Tori Hotel & Restaurant recently with my friends on Durga Puja Nabami night for dinner. We did not stay at the hotel, so I cannot comment on the rooms or lodging facilities, but I would like to share my experience regarding the restaurant. We ordered 3 Dum Biriyanis and 1 Chicken Kosha. The taste of the food was average, but the main issue was with the quality of the biryani. In all three plates, the potato and chicken pieces were completely burnt. This was very disappointing, especially on a festive occasion when we expected good quality food. What made the experience worse was the behavior of the staff. When we politely pointed out the issue and requested a solution, the staff’s response was rude and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing or offering to replace the dish, they behaved in a dismissive way, which was really unpleasant. The location of the restaurant is decent, but service and customer handling need a lot of improvement. Food quality control is also very important, especially for dishes like biryani where customers expect proper taste and freshness. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience. A little care in food preparation and polite behavior from staff could make a big difference, but unfortunately, that was missing...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant during day time and ordered Ilish paturi, chef special chicken and veg pulao. Had to wait for 1 hour before the food arrived. When asked, they kept telling paturi takes time, which is understandable. What is not, is the quality of food when it came to us. Chicken was so rubbery that it was hard to digest. Ilish was extremely bad, even though the presentation of paturi was good. I k ke it's hard to predict how a fish would turn out when bought but for a chef of such an upscale hotel should have the knowledge to segregate good ilish from bad ones. Now, the chicken dish was abysmal. Chewy rubbery chicken has no excuse other than chef's preparation. To be fair to them, i didn't complain it to the owner but this meal was 1000 bucks. I don't think this restaurant is value for money when it comes to upscale location and ambience provided by the restaurant. Food doesn't justify the price here. very...
Read moreThe location was perfect—very close to Ujjayanta Palace, with excellent transportation options and good connectivity via auto-rickshaws to all places. However, the room I stayed in was not up to the mark. As shown in the pictures I have attached, the clothes hanger in the bathroom was broken, the toilet flush was not functioning properly, and the bathroom window was dirty. Additionally, there was a very bad smell coming from the bathroom, and the size of the room was extremely small. The amount charged for such a room—₹1200—is very high given its condition, which is quite pathetic.
On the positive side, the restaurant provided good-quality food. The tea I had was excellent, and the non-veg thali was also very good. However, more attention needs to be paid to the condition of the rooms. Apart from that, everything else was...
