Rooftop Maya Cafe — Restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

I've been living in Moustache Hostel now for the past 2 weeks and I not only eat here everyday, but I make sure to bring anyone whose looking for tasty and most importantly CLEAN food. I highly recommend the plain Thali with extra veggies (170) or the Egg Biryani (140). There is also awesome events like music concerts and they open late if you and your friends want to host a party. They're juices and smoothies are a hundred percent juice and no powder, and I can't stress how awesome the boss is here. He literally brought me to eight different phone stores around town on his motorbike when I told him I couldn't find a SIM card. He's helped other friends of mine hold money when they felt it wasn't safe to leave in there own respective hostels. I stayed at Maya Rooftop Café for almost two weeks while working on a photographic project. My room was comfortable and if I needed anything it was provided without fuss. My room (No 4) has a small balcony. I got a nasty chest infection a few days into my stay and Maya (MataJi) did her best to care for me. Her son Vikas is also very kind and accommodating. He makes the best lemon honey ginger tea I've ever had! I cannot complain about the food, or cost. Tasty, fresh and well prepared. I’m very much sad that I have to give them a bad review, because the food was very nice and the only downside was the waiting time (over 1 hour for noodles and a pancake, with 3 other tables occupied). The thing I didn’t like much was the cold drink with honey, ginger and lemon. It was supposed to be refreshing, but was room temperature and in DIY style, they gave me everything on the side. BUT the worst thing is we got scammed and unfortunately I didn’t realize that before coming back home. We ordered a couple of things so I lost the track. We paid over 300 inr more than the worth of the check. Such a pity, cos otherwise it’s a nice place...
